Ellis bridge is main bridge over Sabarmati river. There was too many traffic over it. During evening time many people came here for walking.

This arch truss bridge was built in the year 1869/70 and was the first bridge to be built across the Sabarmati and is named after Sir Barrow Helbert Ellis (Commissioner of North Zone). As per the information available from the foundation block, being a wooden bridge, it was destroyed in the floods of 1875 and was subsequently rebuilt in steel in 1890/95. It has withstood the test of time for so many years but then it was not conducive to heavy motor vehicle traffic so two parallel bridges were built alongside it. There was some talk of reviving the bridge sometime in the year 2012 but it did not materialize due to various factors. The bridge is now a heritage landmark since 1997 when its usage was stopped and was renamed as Swami Vivekanand Bridge but people still fondly call it by its original name “The Ellis Bridge”

Ellis bridge was built in British times. It was named after Sir Ellis who was in charge at that time of building. The metal steel structure gives a view of an arch. It is very old and historical. It is a landmark of Ahmedabad. It was widened due to heavy traffic later.

For Ahmedabad, this is a bridge of high strategic and historical importance. It helps to join east and west part of the city. The bridge is built a cross Sabarmathi river way back in 1875

A heritage British bridge over sabarmati river, old imperial style metal bridge. The bridge as such is closed for public use, the parallel Nehru bridge has replaced the use.

i am not sure what to review about this, this is just a bridge like others, its on sabamarati river, yes construction is very old, which might make this a tourist attraction, but i don't think its a kind of place you need to go specifically to see, yes, if you are near this area, then yes, sure you can go see it, but actually there is nothing to see for tourism purpose in my opinion.
