We drove from Bhuj and reached Dholavira. We visited this place in the afternoon and went round the Dolavira Historic site. We took a guide who took us round and explained the life and civilization.of Indus Valley Civilization/Harappan city. Lots nd lots of ruins showing how the city was and the houses were built at that time. People who love... More

The Harappa civilization ruins in Dholavira were the highlight of the road trip from Ahmedabad to Kutch. We had to drive over 500 km on the same day to visit Dholavira and reach the hotel for the night, but it was absolutely worth it. It is the only place in the whole country where you can see the remains of... More

It's not much frequented by tourists but if you had ever wondered about great Mohenjodaro civilization this is the place you can witness the history. Its a new site ( found in 1967 and excavated in 1990s). Its a lesson in city planning, engineering - water reservoirs, bath, sewage, storage of grains. Read about it or take a local guide.... More

Location wise it is excellent, but the facilities are poor. Staff of the resort are not properly trained. I have booked a AC room with TV facilities. But the TV was not working. Upon several request also they couldn't trouble shoot it. As we don't have much option for accommodation, we have to adjust these.

Having read about the ancient Harappan & Mohenjo Daro civilisations, this place is the perfect spot to learn more about the history of the harappan civilisation. The site was found in 1967 and excavation started in 1990. After 12 years of hard work using only a knife and brush, more than 80 hectares of the area was excavated. There are... More

This place is a must visit for all the history maniacs and also for the students. It gives you a live history lesson and amazes you with the architecture and planning of the Harappan civilisation. Just a suggestion: either read up on the history of this place before visiting or hire a good guide for a good experience. Prepare yourself... More

A place where humankind started developing more with houses or kingdom in a elevated platform. A wonderful place to visit in gujarat whether you're a history lover or not. Wonder how great those people were by that time. Nearby , the white salt "RANN OF KUTCH" for nearly 10 kilometers which also attracts viewers in this area. who Instead of... More

This is an Indus Valley excavation site in the Great Rann of Kacch in India..The ruins are still untouched by lot many visitors, would suggest take a local guide to visit the ruins, a small kid named Gopal has good knowledge of the place and charged only 100₹ from us.. Dholavira also has a prehistoric wood and a migratory bird... More

This destination is often missed out by travellers as it’s location & connectivity isn’t great. However, if you’re in Kutchh and interested in history of civilizations, this is a must visit. Barely 10% of the site is excavated as on date but it makes for an extremely interesting visit – full of trivia especially around their water management, defense, occupation... More

Firstly off, the access roads are amazing! so while the place is far off, I would recommend you still go ahead and add it to your trip itinerary. Secondly, there is only one Hotel - Toran Resort, which while extremely basic, is both cheap and best connected with the Archaeological site as well as Fossil park. If you are lucky,... More
