I was hesitant, if I'm honest, about going here as quite a lot of the spas or massage places that we found in Goa had less than positive reviews, and/or seemed to be places that catered to a different clientele with different options than we would have wanted..

Luckily, this place is perfectly above board and of really good quality. As some of the previous comments mention, it's not a high class spa, so don't expect that, but it seems like a place run from the heart by very very friendly and zen guys, who are incredibly welcoming and informative and kind.

We loved it so much we went back a second day. If we would have found out about it earlier we would have gone every day for the week we were staying in Goa!

I just wanted to refute or respond to some of the negative comments I'd seen before going, because of course they made me slightly nervous too - so I would hope it would reassure future visitors as I really highly rate this place

The place is not dingy or unclean, it is just a basic property. They use different paper on the massage beds, and they clean it after use. I didn't have concerns about cleanliness. I didn't ask for a shower afterwards, but I would imagine they have. However, if you're going for an ayurvedic massage with oil, you would expect to come away a bit oily :)

They ask you to wear paper underwear like in many spas to avoid you getting oil on your underwear/swimming costume, but you can just politely decline as I did. It's not a big deal.

The setting overall is not the best, but it feels authentic and local as opposed to a polished, westernised, sterile spa environment. You get what you pay for, and with massages less than $20, it's not really worth a complaint about the setting.

I appreciate some people feel uncomfortable changing in front of masseuses, but if you just ask politely they would leave. Also, you're going to be half naked for a massage anyway, so I kind of think this is a bit of a moot point.

The one comment that concerned me was that 'the massage was very intimate and the thong was often moved by accident'. I've had this before in massages and it can really make you uncomfortable especially if you have fear that it's leading to something inappropriate. However, and I say this very strongly from myself and two friends (male and female) who had massages for 2 days running - this did not happen with us. I appreciate it is a subjective feeling and some people find it too much to have inner thigh, buttocks, lower back etc. massaged, but I would definitely not imply that this was anything other than a thorough, full body massage, done very professionally, and very effectively.

To summarise, don't go here if you have incredibly high standards of glossy spas in Europe, but also lower your expectations as you're not paying for a $100 massage for 30 minutes. The standards of the massages are excellent and the staff are very friendly.

What more could you want!

I once again visited this place and got massage service by Mr Jojest, the joint owner of this massage centre. It shows how polite and professional as well they’re. They being owner, doesn’t hesitate in giving massages in rush time. There are other massage centres available in Goa but this is a place where authentic oils and Ayurvedic medicines are used during the course of massages and treatments. And that’s the reason, I have been visiting here for last two years. However, I have felt this time, only one male staff masseur besides owners is working during this year season period. It leaves guests on waiting for their turn. Management should increase number of male masseurs.

Best massage in India Jojest and Sarith really know what they are doing and are so knowledgeable about medicine. Great price and both of them are such Gentlemen When I was there I got sunburnt ,they gave me a tonic and I had no pain at all. I had a massage every day, went home floating on air.

Happen to go to this place post reading the reviews on TA
Pros:
Masseuse was efficient. Sujith was extremely polite.
She managed the pressure properly.
Good one hour massage.
Took an appointment before going hence was attended immediately.
Call on the number before going to ensure you get a place.
Took 1000rs for an hour massage.
CONS:
dingy place; not so clean and properly maintened
No shower facility after massage I asked for it.they said shower after half an hour I was willing to wait but they said not possible.

It's cheap but facility needs to be improved.

Serious safety incident

I have been visiting the Adithya Ayurvedic Centre for a number of years now however I would never recommend after my visit last year. I took my Granddaughter with me and she had arranged to be taught massage here from one of the guys. I found out yesterday that it was all going well until the end of the course when the guy with the topknot 'sexually abused' her whilst showing her massage techniques however she was too scared to say anything, either to us or the owner. I cannot tell you how angry I am as this is my beloved Granddaughter who paid to be attacked by this guy, someone who I had always thought of before as a spiritual man with high values and who I felt completely happy for her to be taught by. It's probably a good job I am in England & not in Goa however I will be back later in the year and will definitely be paying Mr Topknot a visit!

This is the 2nd time I've visited this amazing place & I wasn't disappointed either time. The centre has a truly special feel about it & on both occasions I had treatments from Fifi who certainly knows her stuff. The first time I had an Ayurvedic full body massage & on my 2nd visit I also added Sirodara which was heavenly, inducing the best night's sleep I've had in a long time. If you're lucky enough to be visiting Candolim, please make sure you try this centre but I'd advise you to make an appointment as they do get booked up very quickly!

The massage was cheap but the setting wasn’t very relaxing, it was in a basement with no real lighting and I was asked to get changed into just a paper thong whilst the masseuse was still in the room. The massage was very intimate and the thong was often moved by accident. The masseuse however worked so hard to give the best massage he could and would give him 5 stars. There was no shower to wash off the oil used and my clothes still suffer some marks. I decided to have other massages else where before leaving my review just to gauge how the Ayurvedic are in general.

I'm back at the clinic for treatment ,Jojest and Sarith said start slow as I was very crippled and in lot's of pain ,after 3 weeks I'm walking without a stick. The last 3 days I've walked 3km a day life doesn't get much better than this. I can't say enough about the Adithya Ayurvedic clinic. As for the staff you could travel the world and not meet a more caring group. If your in the area drop in and meet Jojest and Sarith.

Visited for a full body massage and was half disappointed and half worried.
The room was tiny but split in half with a make shift wall which didn't go all the way the the cealing so could hear everything being said by a stranger 'next door'.

I'm really glad that the fan on the wall wasn't put on as it was filthy. As the door wasn't closed fully I was worried that anyone could walk in at any time.

The massage bed was just a hard table and gave me more aches than what I want in with.

I've had many massages of different types over the years and at first I thought the last was being thorough warming my muscles up before going to the actual massage where specific muscles are targeted but no, the full massage was just rubbing me up and down with a weird tickle thing at the end before a was turned over.
I had to ask her to lighten the pressure a few times and have come out with a bruise on my arm from where she stuck her thumb in while quickly running me up and down.

The foot massage section was just her prodding my foot around the edge and at the pad of each toe. Not very relaxing and didn't really deal with my aching feet.

I thought the massage may be just different from what I'm used to and would feel the benefits later but today I feel just as sore as before with a bruise on my upper arm as a souvineer.

I think I'm used to western style of massages too where you are laid under a towel to preserve dignity too but there was no towel in sight so was laid the entire massage just just a pair of underwear on but nothing over my top half which I'm not used to or comfortable with.

Despite me asking for focus to be on my shoulders, unfortunately it was on my arms and breast (really strange for my tastes)

I'm glad others have had a good experience here but I won't be back.
