Goa and Goans are known for their love for the beautiful game, football. A large number of India's reputed I-league teams as also FC Goa of the Indian Super League are based in this tiny state, where football is truly a religion. The Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on the outskirts of Margao is the Vatican or Mecca of this religion! An imposing stadium with multi-tiered stands, this stadium has hosted many major matches such as the Indian Super League final of 2016 and many international matches of the Indian national football team. Apart from this, the stadium also has the distinction of hosting one-day international cricket matches, whenever they are scheduled in Goa. Truly, it's the sporting headquarters of Goa. Next to the stadium are a swimming pool and astro-turf training grounds for football. The Ravindra Bhavan cultural centre is also next door.

Nehru stadium in Fatorda is the biggest stadium in Goa. Usually hosting football matches, it also occasionally hosts international cricket matches. Decent stadium with lots of entrances and seating capacity of 30,000 (approx). Ive been in the stadium multiple times and the crowd control is as good as any Indian stadium Ive been too. Home ground of FC Goa (Theres always a big rush on matchdays)
