Purani basti or old habitation of Raipur provides you a glimpse of old traditional lifestyle and bazaar of the city. This generally a crowded place and going through on a four wheeler is a strictly no no. You will trouble yourself and others.
Just make sure not enter the area in a four wheeler until necessary cause it might get u into trouble. Found it hard to navigate through the streets. It was like a maze and eventually I got stuck. Had to reverse the car around 200m.
The `Purani Basti` meaning old settlement is in the heart of Raipur town. Every where one sees old crowded roads/lanes,food carts,stalls,shops & houses. The 400 year old Dudhadhari Mutt is also located here as well as the much visited Vivekananda Sarovar.
