Just make sure not enter the area in a four wheeler until necessary cause it might get u into trouble. Found it hard to navigate through the streets. It was like a maze and eventually I got stuck. Had to reverse the car around 200m.

I agree with others about the timeline of this place, but why would someone visit. The temples are situated nearby, that's a plus.

The `Purani Basti` meaning old settlement is in the heart of Raipur town. Every where one sees old crowded roads/lanes,food carts,stalls,shops & houses. The 400 year old Dudhadhari Mutt is also located here as well as the much visited Vivekananda Sarovar.

As per historical and archaeological point of view Raipur has been in existence since the 9th century. One of the oldest known populated area is Purani Basti in Raipur.
