This is a big ground with 12 gates for entry and exit. We used to have a walk for the outer ring of this place staying in Lemon tree Premier hotel. Pollution is too high during day time.

Many history made in Patna Gandhi मैदान, I visited here after long time, the newly made Gandhi statue is huge in size and history associated with Gandhi जी written all around.
The size of Gandhi मैदान is too large to accommodate 10 cricket stadium in it. It's pride of Bihar.

The ground is an eye soother in the crowded city.
Could see a lot of people taking morning walks and later a lot of children playing
Can be made more attractive by planting more seasonal flowers, instead of keeping it barren

Gandhi Maidan, previously known as the Patna Lawns, is a historic ground at Patna near the banks of Ganges.
It was during the Bihar visit of Mahatma gandhi at the time of Champaran satyagraha, Bapu addressed a huge meeting at Patna Lawns and in that meeting for the first time Indians in general were allowed to visit Patna Lawn without any restrictions, prior to this meeting entry to Patna Lawns was restricted to Europeans and Elite (Loyalist Indians).
Since then this lawn has been rechristened as Gandhi Maidan.
Several movements were launched on the Patna Lawns during the Indian freedom struggle.
Many prominent leaders of the Indian Independence Movement, such as Mohandas K. Gandhi, Rajendra Prasad,Anugrah Narayan Sinha, Sardar Patel, Maulana Azad, Jawaharlal Nehru, Jaya Prakash Narayan and Sri Krishna Sinha addressed their rallies from here.
It was said that a leader had not arrived until he had addressed a rally at the Gandhi Maidan.
Presently, this ground is being utilised for several commercial purposes like private parties, mass prayers and trade fairs.
The flag-raising ceremony on the Indian Independence Day and Republic Day is held here by the Chief Minister and Governor of Bihar respectively.
Recently the world's tallest Gandhi statue{70-feet tall bronze statue } was unveiled at the historic Gandhi Maidan.

A 32 acre Maidan situated in the heart of the city of Patna !! Verdant greenery with jogging tracks across the perimeter of the Maidan !! It has the tallest statue of mahatma Gandhi in the middle !! This historical Maidan has seen many historic rallies from Mahatma Gandhi to that famous rally of loknayan Jaiprakash Narayan in 1975 which is supposed to be the largest assembly of people at one place in our city !! There are lots of eateries and large hotels around Gandhi Maidan where visitors can eat !! I would say a must visit place in Patna , if u are a jogger or a walk afficiando or just a tourist !!

Gandhi Maidan is very very big ground, This ground is bigger than a cricket stadium.
If you go to this ground in the morning you will see lots and lots of people playing cricket, More than 10 different pitches are here to play, I never ever completed a full circle of gandhi maidan.
This place always organised Dussera Ravan Dehen, All types of political Public rallies.
This Place is always full.
