this is a sangam ghat were the river Ganga meets Gandak. Likeany other ghats, Hindu rites and rituals were being performed here. We were told that the place looks its beat during the auspicious chatt festival.

kaunhara ghat is considered as one of the main ghats of the Ganga-Gandak banks, where worshiping and cremation has been performed side-by-side for centuries.

We were in hajipur visiting an old friend when we saw this ghat. Our driver told us that here river Ganga meets with Gandak. There was nothing special about the ghat. It was just like any other river bank.

you can visit at konhara Ghat, it is situated at hajipur and about 15-20 k.m from Patna Jn. and easily to reach any time. The main time of visit during Sonpur Mela in November

this place is mentioned in vishnu purana according to the locals. the ghat is in hajipur which is not very far from patna. the locals told us that the ghat is decorated very beautifully during the chatt festival.

It is a legendary place based on Vishnu Purana (Ancient Hindu Text) wherein it is said to have sangam (meeting venue) of rivers-Ganga and Gandak. Nice scenic beauty.
