The journey of mine from the railway station to gurudwara was an interesting and memorable one.
As soon as you enter the boundaries of Gurudwara you can feel the surge if peace with the live chanting going on almost at any time of the day. Personally i love putting my feet to water before entering to gurudwara. Then similarly you can cherish the delicious Prasad of desi ghee. You can get it at the token of Rs 10 too which is worth far less then the quality you are having. It turns out to be most fulfilling
This is one of only five Takhats or Holy Seats of Authority of the Sikhs. The Gurdwara Patna Sahib is in remembrance of the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs. This Gurdwara was built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh.Guru Tegh Bahadur visited Patna, he stayed in this exact site. A magnificent house was built above the dharamsala of Salis Rai the dharmshala seemed to be the popular one among the community . A small museum is also there.
Reaching To the Destination
Well there are 3 ways to reach patna sahib gurudwara from the railway station
• A Road Journey
o Reserve an Auto for to and fro (400-500 rs)
o Reserve a cab (600-700)
o Use of sharing auto by changing 2-3 in a way
o Bus (I haven't tried this one personally but there must be some arrangement via it as well)
• B Train Journey
Now let me pick these options in order I approached
Giving an auto 400-500 rs for day time traveling and for a single person doesent seemed that worthy so the idea was an instantaneous drop.
I have a liking towards train journey as they are traffic free hassel free in the day.
Grab any passanger/ local from main station to the gurudwara and then take a rikshaw 10-15rs you will be in patna sahib gurudwara . Now this seems to be the ideal and most value for money way as in 15-20 minutes you will be there at your destination

I visited there in May 2014, during my visit to India. It's the birth place of Sikh's community's 10th Guru, Shri Guru Govind Singh Ji. It's a very nice place to visit. you'll feel peace of mind & can be spend few hours there.

It is in the old part of the city. The roads are narrow and crowded. Better to leave taxi away from the market area and walk all around before entering the Gurdwara. Market is shoppers' paradise. Plenty and variety of eatables available.
Inside the main gate of Gurdwara Campus it is comparatively quiet and peaceful. The music on public address system is soulful. Prasad is heavenly.
The inner sanctum is huge and very impressive. The Granth Sahib is displayed in all its glory.
I highly recommend the travelers to visit this place.

During my official visit to Ranchi, I took a day off to visit Takhat shri Harmandirji Patna sahib. Its one of the most sacred places for sikhs, located in the older Patna & about 7-8 kms from Patna city. This is the birth place of guru gobind singh ji, the 10th Guru. The car drop point is right inside the premises. The gurudwara building is under renovation and kaar seva for gold plating work is going on, as a part of celebration of upcoming 300th birthday of Guru Gobind Singh ji. Pratham Darshni dwar is the old gate through which 9th guru Sh.Teg Bahadur ji had actually entered the then house with his family.Within the sanctum sanctorum, there is Mata Gujri's well, the water from which is used till date as amrit prasad for the sangat. The Takht Sahib is just behind the sanctum sactorum. the parikrama is common to both the gurudwara sahib and the takht sahib. Guru sahib's original chola is also kept duly framed in the Parikrama. While listening to the keertan, one gets paece and solace. Langar hall is at the back side of the gurudwara sahib.
If in or arround Patna, its a must visit place for religious people.

The birth place of Guru Gobind Singh, is the best place to understand the Philosophy of Sikh religion once you visit the museum you will feel bowing a thousand time to the warrior Guru.
Visiting the surrounding area like Guru ka bagh and Kangan Ghat gives you solace and peace of mind.

It is among the most SPIRITUAL places of SIKHS and also one of the most in Patna as Guru GURUGOBIND SINGH was born here.
This is a exquisite marble peace ,very enormous with a central dome dome and surrounding domes. Its is very clean and every thing is spiritual.Listening to GURUBANIS is a must as it really relaxes you.Its a must visit when you come to patna.
Outside you can really enjoy some very good snacks and food, the Location is a bit congested but its worth going .

This Gurdwara has been built at the birth place of Sri Gobind Singh ji and is one of the five holiest shrines for the Sikh community.
Since I was in Patna for a day, I decided to squeeze in this visit. Getting there is not easy, what with the narrow roads and the unpredictable Patna traffic. However, once you reach the place, you'll be awe struck....a huge patch of white in the otherwise grimy surrounding.
However, the management could have done more to inform the uninformed about the significance of this place.

Wahe Guru ka Khalsa Wahe ki Fateh, Bolo Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ki Jai, Sri Takth Sri Patna Sahib Harmandirji is a must visit for all those who believe in Sikhism. But since the area is Old City of Patna, please plan the trip duration for 2-3 hrs because that is least amount of time u need to commute from either airport or railway statoon .
