Recently, a week back my aunt and uncle with my cousins and their grand children went for boating. Water came into the so called boat and my uncle and aunt drowned and died while the kids were rescued after a trauma. This is extremely unsafe. No life guard, not even a life jacket, if you fall in water, chances for... More

This is Natural lake with lots of Birds and Lotus flowers. Its not too deep, can visited using Palm tree boats. But this lake is located around 50 kms far from Vizag and its very remote location area. Worth visiting.

This lake is a hidden beauty. Its a pleasure to see nature not tampered. Beautiful lake, with lots of lotus flowers and special boating on logs of palm tree make this place unique.

50 km away from Visakhapatnam is this awesome lake , around 2m deep and 720 ha of fresh water . There are quite a handful of migratory birds, white lilies, frogs, lots of fish and other water life ... kids, especially teenagers would really like this place. Boating is provided by locals on a two hollow toddy palm trunks carved... More

This is a natural lake having lots of lotus and beautiful surroundings. It is a bird sanctuary for local as well as migrated overseas birds which are seen only during winter season which is the right time to visit this place. State government has not done anything either to develope or to advertise this lake. It is almost 50 km... More

We were searching for some fresh water and nature after Hudhud and planned this trip after reading reviews. Though we were staying in Vizag, very few people know of this place. Even locals / travel agents drew a blank when we asked. We went ahead to Anakapalle and from there started asking locals. Its just around 20 minutes from Anakapalle... More

Kondakarla Bird Sanctuary is located about an hour away from the city and is best to visit during the winter season. The place is scenic with beautiful clean lake, surrounded by the Eastern Ghats and green Palmyra trees. The local villagers also offer boat rides on the lake with a small fare. These hollow boats are interestingly carved out of... More

1. Kondakarla Bird Sanctuary (Boat ride in Kondakarla) - about one hour from the city, very nice and calm, two logs are combined into a simple boat. Birds, water, green and quite. All the area is very rural and very different from the city. Simple and nice people. This was one of my favorite tours.
