There is a small temple on the way to Papavinasam from Tirumala Balaji temple. This krishna temple which is generally less crowded has a beautiful krishna idol. Temple is nicely maintained & archana & harathi puja can be done paying a small amount. There are many small shop while climbing the steps which sells nice Balaji song CDs in hindi / sanskrit / telugu languages, pilgrims can explore the same. Don't forget to eat the traditional kaccha mango which is nicley cut & sold here throughout the year with spicy powder chutney.

On my visit to Karveti Venugopala Swamy Temple

There are many worthvisiting temples in and around Tirupati such as Srinivasa Mangapuram, Tiruchanur, Kodandaramalayam, and Appalayakunta venkateswara Temple and vedanarayana Temple. Most of them are located within a radius of 20 to 40 Kms. But due to lack of frequent Bus services, most people are not aware of these temples. Karveti Venugopala Swamy temple Is in karvetinagaram, at a distance of 48 kms from Titupati. It was built in 15th century. The journey through small villages, green fields and gardens refreshes our minds and we feel relieved a lot from the sweltering heat of the crowded city. The pilgrims see a big lake while entering the village with a temple float on it. The main temple tower is very tall with beautiful carvings leading to a spacious temple front yard. There is a step well beside the temple. The tall statue of Krishna with a cow behind and flanked by his two consorts Rukmini and Satyabhama attracts the devotees very much. Just near his feet there is a pot of butter. There are other subsidiary temples for Rama, Sita, Lakeshmana and Anjaneya, and for Lord Parthasaradhi also. All statues are very big and beautifully carved. When we went there none was seen. The temple priests patiently explained to us about the significance of this holy temple. They gave us prasadam in large quantity as there were not many devotees.Due credit goes to T.T.D.Authorities who made arrangements for proper conducting of poojas and offering of Naivedyams to presiding deities in all the temples under their administrative control. But more bus trips would help pilgrims to visit temples like these in around Tirupati.

This temple is not operated by TTD. And there is no free Darshan.. You will forcibly charged with Rupees 5 per person. It is not matter of rupees 5. But how these funds are being used? I were visiting this temple whenever i visit Tirumala. Earlier Darshan was free. Then started collecting Rupees 2 without any acknowledgement. recently i got to know that it is not operated by TTD but by some MUTT.

Sri Venugopala Swamy Temple.

After visiting Shila Thoranam, we visited a beautiful temple very popular in the name of Venugopal Temlpe Or Sri Venugopalaswamy Temple. It is a Krishna Temple. Here Lord Krishna is depicted a flute charmer.
Sri Venu Gopala swamy temple is located while on the way to Papavinasanam, which is about 5 km from main temple Tirumala. The devotees can have a darshan of Lord Krishna in this serene location temple which is run by the swamy Hathiramji Matt. Every Piligrim visiting Tirumala Tirupati must and should visit Sri Venugopala Swamy Temple and seek blessing from Venugopala Swamy As it was early morning, there was no crowd. We entered the temple & offered our homage very peacefully & came out from other gate. Before coming out, a Pandit put on a sacred thread on my wrist. In front of the temple there is a deity of Hanuman, being worshiped . From the main road a small passage has gone to the temple gate. There are a lot shops on both sides are selling mementoes.

One has to climb several steps from the road level to reach the temple. The main idea seems to be shopping on the way to the temple. Very crowded.

Sri Venugopala Swamy Temple, is located at Karvetinagaram about 45 Kms from Tirupathi and about 12 Kms from Puttur in the district of Chittoor of Andhra Pradesh.

I visited this temple with my family and friends on 29th September 2015. This is the only Sri Krishna Temple in the vicinity of Tirupathi which is under the administration
control of TTD.

The beautiful structure of the temple attracts the devotees. The main Tower or Gopuram with Seven Kalasams and five stories attracts from a distant. The beautifully carved sculptures on the Tower is a feast to the eyes to admire.

Lord krishna with His consorts Rukmini and Satyabhama is present giving a gallant look. We are happy we visited this temple for the first time.

Though direct buses from Tirupathi are very few, bus services from Puttur are many.
We however, went by on our arrangements covering all the important temples around Tirupathi.
