A trip to Hyderabad is incomplete without a drive along the Hussain Sagar Lake,
Hyderabad’s answer to Mumbai’s Marine Drive. The wide street glows like a pearl
necklace in the evenings with walkers, hawkers, ice cream carts and all the locals
enjoying the beautiful views of the lake. There are a number of lake-facing restaurants, shops and cafes especially on Eat Street, which overlook the monolithic
statue of Gautam Buddha that separates Hyderabad from Secunderabad. Home to a
variety of parks and gardens, heritage architectural areas and temples, Hussain
Sagar Lake is Hyderabad’s favourite kid-friendly hub in the city.

Must to activity in town. Boat drive if 5 minutes from the park. They have different options of boat safari inside the lake which takes around the lake.
You can get down if you take ferry option and can take back to go back. Statue stand tall inside Hussain Sagar lake. Looks beautiful with lights in the night. You can spend 20 to 30 minutes inside.
Usually crowded during evenings and weekends.

We took the motor boat over there and it was a superb trip! The wait was not bad at all. The statue really stands out - it is the largest statue of buddha in the world that was created from one piece of stone. It has a nice calming effect on you. You do not want to miss adding this to your trip while in Hyderabad.

You can see this 60 feet statue in the middle of the Hussain Sagar Lake while driving down the tank bund. It is even more eye catching at night. It is worth a visit during your boat ride on the Lake. Combine it with your outing to the aquarium and eateries along the tank bund.

The giant statue located amidst the waters of Hussain Sagar lake at Hyderabad is a must visit for anyone visiting Hyderabad. Buy a ticket to enter the Lumbini Park and move on to the ticket counter to buy tickets... preferable is a speedboat tour for a family of 4. (Rs 400 per trip). But you cant get down from the boat at the statue. If you want to get down and spend sometime there you have to go by the a big boat which carries many passengers.

Placing Buddha statues around your home can bring peace, positive energy, good health and prosperity. The Happy Buddha - Shakyamuni Buddha - is probably the most popular statue and brings good luck and abundance. Sometimes Buddha statues can be bought in pairs or even threes.

Visit to Buddha statue in the middle of Hussain Sagar lake was Ok Ok kind. You can visit once and spend few mts there. The carvings in the front are done meticulously. But looks like the sculptors either were not given enough time, or were not interested, as the carvings on the other three sides didnt have a proper finishing. Overall it was Ok. And you can visit once.

Yes you can hire a private power boat. I am not sure of the cost now as it is been a while now. You can get the power boat from Lumbini Park area and also the necklace road area

Statue stands on a rock solid structure which is approx 15 ft in height, length and width. Statue height is approx 58 ft. It is largest statue of Lord Buddha. During its erection, it fell in the lake killing 10 people. later after day and night efforts, statue was lifted from lake bed and erected. it was blessed and cleaned with mantras by Dalai Lama.
