The KBR National Park is a hidden jewel in the city of Hyderabad. The park is large, it has a mosque inside, an open gym area, a yoga section, numerous walking tracks, it also has a walking track on the outer edge of the park. There are beautiful rocks around the park, steps and inclines which give you a good workout. All in all, a must visit to take an early morning walk and see the beautiful sunrise.
There is an entry fee of Rs 45, which is great as it all goes in maintaining the park.

The well maintained national park has two walking trails- One inside the park for which you pay a fee and one outside which is free. The walking trail outside the park boundary is better and longer. It passes through well landscaped hilly terrain and well maintained rock scapes. I have always preferred walking outside because the trail inside tends to get too crowded and is too small.

We had visited KBR National Park during our sightseeing in Hyderabad. The Park is open for entrance till 9.30 in the morning and we had reached 5 minutes late when the counter was closed but the guy was very helpful and allowed us in. Tickets are priced at 25 rupees per person. This place is huge with so many varieties of trees and pathway to walk around. We saw many peacocks which was a great visual treat and some other types of birds but didn't see any animals like porcupines, pangolins, wild boar which resides here.

The good: lots of Peacock sightings, a good walk for maintaining health. Benches to sit on and chillax, trails are well maintained and enjoyable to walk on
The bad: Cannot bring cameras (so no peacock pictures), cannot bring water bottles (so no hydration while walking). Half of the park is closed off / restricted. No views of distant landscape to speak of. Timings make it difficult to get here; apparently open early and late in the day but not during midday. Hawkers and beggars abound outside. Any entry fee is charged and you have to get frisked.
If I lived close by I might go there to walk sometimes, but will not make a special trip to go back.

This remains one of my favourite places in Hyderabad. As such this is not a tourist attraction and there is nothing much to see here. However in the busy and crowded city, this place would seem like an oasis. Go for a movie in the pricey Cinemax in the afternoon, walk for 2 - 3 Kms in the evening chatting with your companion or friends, take pictures of some peacocks, then visit the awesome Jagannath Temple in Banajara Hills, Road No 12 if possible (walkable from here, plenty of auto-rickshaws available) - A perfect package. The crowd in KBR park is pretty good, the whole area is full of greenery and you have interesting birds to watch. If you are not the touristy type, I'd rate this place more than NTR Gardens, Lumbini Park and any other parks in Hyderabad.

Less of a park and more of a walking path. Could be landscaped better. But good for a long walk. If you are lucky, you might spot a few peacocks.....I didn't.

Hype: national park in the city, jungle amidst the concrete jungle, joggers paradise..140 species of birds!!!
Truth: agreed to all points but Do not allow cameras and binoculars? ?? Why??? If you are with family mobile is the only way to click pics.. If you are a birdwatcher then you will miss your binoculars..
Nothing special for an outsider or tourist

In the heart of concrete jungle, lies this beautiful strip of nature known as KBR park. Went along with the members of Bird Watchers Societyand as they have taken a special permission to enter t Park, it was easy for us to go inside. It is indeed so beautiful. Cannot imagine that it is being maintained so well thanks to the Forest Department. We saw many birds and took photographs. The best of the birds was a Peacock with its long and colourful tail. This park also is being used for joggers either in the morning or evening. If the Government takes some more care, we can protect the flora and fauna in the midst of the city.

Which circle can I run on in the park and is there a monthly pass which I can make ??
Myth2004
Hyderabad, India35 contributions
You can run on the outside track of the park which has many ups and downs including stairs up a small hill without any pass. If you prefer a flatter track, then you can run inside the park for which you can buy a daily pass from the main gate. If I remember right, they do have a monthly pass as well.
