Scenic Beauty: The main attraction of Tank Bund is undoubtedly the stunning view it provides of the Hussain Sagar Lake. The combination of the vast lake, the greenery around it, and the city's skyline in the background creates a picturesque setting that is perfect for leisurely walks or relaxation. The area is beautifully illuminated at night, making it an enchanting spot for an evening stroll.
Boating Experience: One of the highlights of visiting Tank Bund is the boating experience on Hussain Sagar Lake. Tourists and locals alike can enjoy a boat ride to reach the famous Buddha statue located on an island in the lake. The boat rides are usually well-maintained, providing a pleasant experience to visitors.
Recreational Activities: Tank Bund offers a variety of recreational activities for visitors. The landscaped gardens and open spaces are ideal for picnics, outdoor games, and family gatherings. Additionally, there are several food stalls and vendors selling local delicacies, providing an opportunity to savor Hyderabad's culinary delights.
Historical Significance: Apart from its natural beauty, Tank Bund also holds historical importance. It was constructed during the reign of the last Nizam of Hyderabad, Osman Ali Khan, to control the flow of water between Hussain Sagar and other tanks in the city. The heritage structures and monuments around the area add to its charm and cultural significance.
Crowd Management: Given its popularity as a tourist destination and a local hangout spot, Tank Bund can get crowded, especially during weekends and holidays. As a result, it is advisable to visit during weekdays or early mornings to avoid the rush.
Maintenance: While Tank Bund is a beautiful location, there have been concerns in the past about pollution in Hussain Sagar Lake due to the discharge of untreated sewage and industrial waste. Authorities have been working to address these issues, but it's essential to raise awareness about preserving the lake's ecological balance.
Safety and Security: As with any public space, it's essential to remain vigilant and mindful of your belongings while visiting Tank Bund. The presence of law enforcement and security personnel helps maintain a safe environment, but it's always wise to take necessary precautions.
Overall, Tank Bund in Hyderabad is a must-visit location for both tourists and locals. Its scenic beauty, historical significance, and recreational offerings make it a delightful spot for leisure and relaxation. However, efforts should continue to ensure the preservation of the lake and its surroundings to maintain its charm for future generations.

Tank Bund makes for an interesting place to visit in Hyderabad. It connects the two twin cities; Hyderabad and Secunderabad. It also dams the Hussain Sagar Lake, which has the famous monolith of Gautam Buddha in the middle. The place is popular for 33 bronze statues of famous people of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in the area around. The wonderful view of Hussain Sagar Lake from Tank Bund attracts many visitors, especially in the evenings. There are several quite spots along the Tank bund where you can spend a while just enjoying the breeze and the view.

Hussain Sagar lake is highly polluted and the lake stinks at several places. But early morning stroll is a pleasing experience. The Lumbini Park is located here from where you can take mechanized boat to the Buddha statue. There are also many good eating options including street food.

Hussain Sagar is nothing but drainage tank of Hyderabad which receives sewerage from different parts of the city. With stench and revolting smell, one would never dare to go there after visiting once.Filthy gardens filled with unhygienic vendors and grubby people with inexcusable habit of spitting and urinating.

tank bund is the main road / bridge connecting secundrabad to hyderabad .
its flanked on one side the huge man made lake on one side with the statute of lord buddha on the rock of gibralter and the sanjeevaiah park and the sailing club and on the otherside its the statues of various rulers , historians , literary artists of the telugu sampradaya sadly were vandalized by some insane miscreants but were restored .its a must to vist or just walk down the whole lenght of the bridge.
the aging bridge was renovated and a supporting wall errected during the TDP time.
its also called the hussainsagar lake.
Hussain Sagar is a heart shaped lake in Hyderabad built by Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali in 1563, during the rule of Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah. It is spread across an area of 5.7 square kilometers and is fed by River Musi. A large monolithic statue of the Gautama Buddha, erected in 1992, stands on Gibraltar Rock in the middle of the lake. It also separates Hyderabad from its twin city Secunderabad.[1] The maximum depth of the lake is 32 feet.
Hussain Sagar was built across a tributary of the river Musi river in 1563 by Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah. The lake was named after Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali, who helped to design it. It is an artificial lake that holds water perennially fed by canals from Musi river. Hussain Sagar was the main source of water supply to Hyderabad before Himayat Sagar and Osman Sagar were built on river Musi.
Lake Hussainsagar, a heritage site of India was declared as the 'Heart of the World' by UNWTO on 27th September of 2012, on the occasion of World Tourism Day, for being the World's Largest Heart Shaped Mark, the World's Heritage Heart shaped Mark, and the World's Wonderful Heart Shaped Mark on the face of the earth among the heart shaped marks formed by the heart shaped lakes and islands that exist in the world. Logo for the 'Heart of the World' was inaugurated by H.E. Mr. Taleb Rifai, Secretary-General, United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), Madrid-Spain, in the year 2013.

It's a nice place to walk by for a while, can spend some roaming around but I wouldn't suggest this place to stop for a longer time due to the traffic disturbances and narrow minded crowd over the area. Just stop by to look around the place, park, vintage war tank and yes... If your interested in the history of famous ruler's, poet's have a look on the opposite side you may find some statues of them. A point to be noted there are no basic facilities near by better keep that in mind.

Tank Bund, shores Hussain sagar lake which connects the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. It is a very busy road, buzzing with noise and pollution.
The Gautam Buddha statue on Rock of Gibralter, at the center of the lake is a prime attraction. On the Tank Bund, the statues of eminent personalities of Telugu Literature, freedom fighters, poets and other important persons were erected during the regime of Mr. N T Rama Rao, Ex-Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from the Telugu Desam Party, who came to the power with in a short period of 9 months from floating the party.
Boats are available from Lumbini Park and Eat Street to reach the Buddha Statue, where we can spend much time, admiring the beauty of the Rock and the Lake. The place looks attractive when it is illuminated in the nights. Tank Bund has become a land mark for the twin cities and also a suicidal spot for love failures.
