Signed up for couch to 5k Hyderabad runners program being held 3 times a week since January 2020.

As part of this program, I end up being there at 0600 am for about 90 minutes.

There are quite a few health freaks trying to run, jog, walk, stroll with kids, stroll with spouse, play badminton, do yoga or just laze around to get free vitamin D.

I took the monthly pass which makes it a little easier for this month.

You get to drink some hot flavored health drink at the entrance. I cannot endorse as i haven't tried yet. However, do see folks relish it.

All in all recommended as a good place early in the morning if you want some clean air and fresh surroundings.

Happy botanicking & stay healthy.

While I was staying in Hyderabad, I took the opportunity to visit the parks that have the potential for birdwatching and bird photography.
We the help of my tour guide, Kumar Vaspari, I figured out that an important park such as Sanjeevaiah park (near the actual Hussain Sagar lake) will not give access to people equipped with camera & big lens such as 800mm.
Fortunately, Kumar was very helpful. He found out some places that I could access with having an entry permit. So I was able to visit Hyderabad Botanical Garden & the Ameenpur lake. Both places were with birds in abundance. However regarding the Hyderabad botanical garden, it cost me 40$ for the entry fee & it was limited to 4 hours.
In both places, Kumar has been instrumental to resolve the issues in finding the places with the birds I wanted to photograph. He was very professional, punctual as we getting up early in the morning. This was a very good experience.
I recommend Kumar for birdwatching activities in Hyderabad.

The cost for an adult to enter was only 40 Rupees and no additional charge for foreigners. I was very pleased not to have to pay extra for a change. But the sad thing was they wanted to charge 4,000 rupees for me to bring my camera with me to try to take a few pictures of birds. The management should be ashamed of themselves. The place looked quite run down, but I would have liked to walk around and try to take some pictures. Why charge 4,000 rupees when people with mobile phones can take pictures for no charge ?

The gardens are not well-maintained, and there aren't very well-kept paths for walking. The pond is drained and muddy. Everything is dusty and unkempt. The children's playground is ok, but half the equipment is broken. It could be a really nice place if it was kept well.

Have been to Botanical gardens many times, but these days the management of garden has become very very poor causing lot of inconvenience to the visitors. All the grass have become dry, water wont run from the outlets. The pond also has become dry and has lost its charm. Only you can find college going boys & girls sitting at the farthest points engrossed in chatting etc.

The lawn near the entrance is spectacular and breath taking indeed! There have been some changes in the recent past such as partying, ceremonies. Please my sincere request is to avoid partying, weddings in such a beautiful place. Leave the plants aloe to flourish and don't harm the purpose for which this garden was created , to save bio-diversity.

This was a beautiful park couple of years back. But don't know what happened to the authorities, it looks to be an abandoned one for the past 1 year though they are charging for the entry. It looks to be a dried up forest. I'm unable to digest to see this park in such a pathetic condition now. There is no grass to sit and it seems they are not watering to any plants forget about the lawn. Earlier there was a small pond with boating and now it is dried up. Bicycles used to be available for rent inside the park, but not there now. Small adventurous activities like tarpaulin, rope walk, spider web etc used to be there for the additional charges, which are completely removed now. Even the food stall has been closed. Toilets are stinking. We couldn't stay for long this time.

The princes for photography are pathetic. Don't know how many people are affording it. How come they charge Rs 3000/- for photography? If mobiles phones are allowed what's wrong with DSLRs, since every phone has camera snow? They are looting too much mindlessly.

In Hyderabad many such places even don't allow cameras. It's ridiculous. The reason is not yet clear. But such practices should be stopped, or they will be loosing their own credibility.
