The palace is set in extensive grounds, with many buildings. All are not open. Restoration is being undertaken (the palace lay empty for many years), and quite a bit is completed. A visit provides an insight into the lifestyle of the Indian ruling class, which appears to have been quite lavish. Much to see, so allow plenty of time. The... More

Wow. This is one word that escapes from your mouth the moment you step into the grand hall. What a life the Sultans had led! Keep your cameras ready to take snaps throughout the palace. I wish I had spent at least another hour extra in this place. Near the entrance there is a Photo Service which takes photograph of... More

Very vast and grand palace .... widespread and spacious with beautiful carvings and well maintained green lawns. The darbar hall with chandeliers and the pictorial gallery were awe inspiring ... The vintage car section was well maintained and the latest modern mahals of the nizams decendents reflected royalty and class ... Its a must watch place

It's an amazing Palace.. well maintained.. peaceful, huge, open spaces. After ages saw a beautiful palace... heard this is recently opened up to the common people.. Shows how beautifully Princess and Princesses lived their lives. A good place see the vintage cars. Heard many locals also have not visited the palace. Ensure to stay back till 6pm and enjoy the... We visited this palace first thing in the morning (10AM opening), which probably helped to make the visit more pleasant. The palace contains many buildings and rooms, some of which are open. The large main hall is beautiful with especially beautiful chandeliers (lots of them). We also enjoyed the seeing the main lounge/living room with its original furnishings. The palace... More

It is a fabulous palace in the heart of old city though the approach can be slow due to traffic that is impossible at times due to recent metro construction as well as old city bottlenecks. Worth taking time to visit the grounds and all the out buildings . some guidance is available and history is enormous to take in!
