About
Makruzz is a luxury catamaran service, operating between Port Blair, Havelock in Neil in the emerald isles of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. It is the first and the largest privately owned fleet in the Andamans. The professionalized service coupled with luxurious interiors and fastest travel time has made MAKRUZZ, a favourite and the first choice of tourists and islanders alike, despite the presence of increased competition over the years. On its initiation, the passenger ferry was dedicated to the tourism industry by the then Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lt. Gen (Retd) Bhopinder Singh, PVSM, AVSM. The owners and the staff continue to dedicate immense efforts to improve user experience and aid the growth of Brand Andaman. Today, MAKRUZZ remains not only a top attraction but also a vital infrastructure in the tourism industry of the islands.

Well organized. Meticulous luggage receipt & delivery arrangements. No damage. No confusion. Within No time. Good sea view. Planned numbered sitting. On board music, can avail snacks- beverages on reasonable payments. While in high seas you experience the splash, waves and sea bounce. Exhilarating tourist enjoyment. Multiple round of ferrying. - Meander420334610539 contributionsFastest safest and bestone of the best and fastest mode of transport to swaraaj dweep from port blair. Also, the customer service is great. Island people are honest and helpful. I had an incident where I forgot my phone in the makruzz and realized an hour later. The guy whose name was sanjeev picked up my phone and told that i forgot my both phones in the ship. He asked me to meet at a specific place and handed me over both phones after ensuring that they belong to me. Truly a great experience. In short book makruzz. They are really good.Visited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten January 30, 2024
- luvtennis08Chicago, Illinois23 contributionsAn experience as good as their website claimsA truly wonderful experience starting with the staff who are amazing. I took my 88 year old mother who has very limited mobility, but the staff were unbelievably helpful. These kind of people are what India stands for. Deluxe Cabin was very clean, accessible washrooms. On board snacks were very tasty and very reasonably priced. So buy quick before they run out. Silent, smooth ride. No fear of sea sickness. Only suggestion is they consider air conditioning of the waiting hall.Visited January 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 18, 2024
- Aakanksha21Mumbai, India86 contributionsGood experience and time boundThe interiors are neat and clean and it seems mostly the system is quite organised with de boarding and on boarding. There is a proper check in and scanning system in place also. Dont book corner seats since the Aur conditioner doesn’t work so effectively. If you have kids who may want to watch tv - give preference to middle seats. In the lower deck the windows have water marks on them, so not fully clear view. Food and snacks are also available on board. Good experience overallVisited March 2024Traveled with familyWritten March 6, 2024

Journey from PortBlair to Havlock Island was good but without any hospitality . But at the time of need they played a negetive roles. On 19th March due to notification from IMD the last Cruz could not come to Neil Island for taking it's passengers (about 100 nos), to PortBlair. But other shipping companies had preponed their ferries and picked up their passengers within 12 hrs of that day. But this worthless Makcruzz created a total mesh in their office at Neil Island, without any proper communication and bad behaviour of their staff. Ultimately we had to overstay for one night more in our own cost. After 5, 6 hours vigorous persuasion from different passengers we could reach Port Blair in a Government ship at our own cost. Thanks to Andaman Administration.
One Month passed, till date No Refund has been credited to my account for seven heads although about fifteen times conversation and fifteen mails done.
I shall never recommend this Cruise to anyone, for it's unprofessional irresponsible negetive attitude.

Very BAD experience. Looks like a CHEAT company. I booked some tickets in Dec 2020 and they were cancelled by them. I asked for refund and they told me initially that you will get refund in 7-8 days. However now even after 1 and half a month they have not refunded my Rs 10K + and they even stopped responding on emails /phones etc.
Not only me, I checked their social media pages and found that they have cheated many other people.
I am definitely considering filing this in Consumer forum as I don't see my refund coming back soon

It was a mistake that we booked Makruzz after visiting their website which is very misleading. If you have a tendency for sea sickness avoid this ride. When the sea is rough you will see almost 30% - 35% of the passengers vomiting and falling sick. The ferry is like a closed box with people stuffed inside. No room for fresh air and you will not be allowed to step outside on the outer deck. Their refreshments are of no use as they do not keep lemon / clove which is a basic requirement for sea sickness, instead you will find Samosa, puffs etc which do not seem to be fresh. After paying Rs 1800 / person we were not able to enjoy this ride at all. Better to opt for Green Ocean.

We travelled by MAK3 Pearl from Havelock island to Port Blair on Monday 9th May 2022. The ferry had been suspended for two days prior to this because of the Government warning about Cyclone Asani. Naturally the ship was very crowded on both inbound and outbound trips.
This is a very fast, comfortable and air-conditioned ship run by a competent crew.
The weather was good on land at the time of our starting but the open sea was extremely turbulent, tumultuous and rough.
I had read about the unpredictable weather and ferry services of the Andamans even before I came here. So I had taken the precaution of allowing a 24-hour of margin of error/ unpredictable problems for my flight ticket out of Port Blair on the following day. That was a wise decision.
All ships plying in these seas can have unpredictable delays based on the weather. In these situations the Harbour Master is the final deciding authority to allow or disallow the boats to ply.
In my case the sea turned rough within fifteen minutes of starting from Havelock island. It was a turbulent, tumultuous, and an unbelievably rough crossing.
One moment the ship was riding the crest of a very high wave and the next moment it was slamming down into the following trough. It was very much like a roller coaster ride.
This went on for the most part of our journey of one hour and forty five minutes.
The cabin crew did their best to assist the 250 passengers most of whom were throwing up their breakfast and possibly the dinner. At some point it seemed that there weren't enough sea sickness bags to go around.
I was happy that at least there were enough life boats for the passengers. But to be practical, no life boat could have saved us from those gigantic waves.
It was a miracle and the extreme competence of the Captain and the crew that safely delivered us to the Haddo jetty in Port Blair even though we were an hour behind time .
I'm sure that many of the passengers might have missed their flights due to the various delays in the ferry service.
All I can say is that it is impossible to budget for the weather related contingencies while travelling in the Andamans.

Critical: Professionalism
My booking was cancelled due to Covid 2nd wave and as per email communication (in the month of April), my amount of almost Rs 11000 was to be refunded back immediately. But it hasn't been refunded till date. These guys do not respond on calls, mails and whatsapp, and their website carries a silly apologetic message stating that the services are closed due to the pandemic. This is the most unprofessional and irresponsible organization I have ever come across, more so because they are running a so-called transportation business.
Please avoid booking through this pathetic service, if you actually care for your money.

Booked 3 journeys from port blair to havelock then to Neil and then back to port Blair on different dates. The two which are in the afternoons were smooth and kids enjoyed it. The one from havelock to Neil in the morning was a little rough due to winds and some persons faced sea sickness but rest was all good. Do reconfirm your tickets at least 1 day before as mine was scheduled to depart at 4 and they changed it to 3:30pm. There was no information from Makruzz in any form and I came to know from hotel I was staying. 1 star deducted due to this only. Rest all was well. Ferries were always on time in my case.

Hi,
Thank you for choosing Makruzz for the inter island travel partner. We always recommend our passengers to reconfirm their travel tickets and timings a day in advance as sometimes they can change owing to the weather conditions or some technical issues.
We look forward to having you onboard again soon.
Thanks,
Team Makruzz

We took the Makruzz ferry from Port Blair to Havelock , now known as Swaraj Dweep islands. Very well kept and it was a real pleasant ride. If u can afford, please do try their deluxe class which has got plush seats, lots of leg space and an upper deck view. They were also punctual and had some wonderful staff. A few suggestions here. Their onboarding should be more professional and smooth, provide better waiting rooms instead of making us sit in the dingy departure halls. Plus , can provide a wider choice of food for the passengers. One of the highlights of my trip was Makruzz.

Very very poor customer service! Absolutely unprofessional.
We had ferry tickets booked for 21 March and with the cyclone warning, makruzz was most incompetent and not even willing to accomodate. Initially they said we can reschedule and no response and no email, no one even picks up the phone.. only after multiple messages and calls i understand there would be charges. No one picks and and no one responds and no one has the time!!! They can chat on what's up but not call.
All our hotels like the Taj or lemon tree and all our flights were most accomodative excepting Makruzz .
Extremely unprofessional and unpleasant experience.
If possible atleast have the courtesy for someone senior to respond

Quick check in, very clean seats with well mannered staff who listened to us when we requested them to decrease the volume of videos that were being played.
Areas of improvement: We still need to carry a print-out for checkin-in and for seats to be allotted. It would be great if this could be revisited.
Overall, a great travel experience and will definitely go for more. Thanks Team Macruzz

Not worth booking it in advance. We booked royal class one month in advance as per the time and seat suitable for us, but last moment they just cancels the cruises if they dont get enough passengers. And will try to fit you in in any available seats. We got standard seats middle rows in another cruise.
This happened for both of our cruise from port blair to havelock and return. Staffs at havelock were very rude and instead of helping us with the seats told to cancel the booking and stay back in havelock. We opted for Nautica’s ferry after cancelling this and are still waiting for refund.
Would suggest to book the ferry directly from the jetty if you are going in an off season. We travelled in may end.

Hello all! My flight is landing in port blair at 11.55 and the next Makruzz ferry is at 2. Can i make it? I would preferably avoid staying at PB at the beginning of the trip as I must spend one day on my return journey.

It will be very risky.. If your flight is delayed by any chance, then not only will u miss ur ferry, but u will not get the tickets for the next ferry since these ferries always run full and u need 2 book ferry tickets well in advance..

We booked a cruise from PB to Havelock for November 6th 2021, but for some reason we were told it's cancelled due to technical issues. Can someone please please advice what are the other alternatives to travel to Havelock (or just any other island) without a ferry? I heard seaplanes or non functional.
Our ferry to Neil Island as well was cancelled a week ago. Hence we changed the entire trip to only Havelock. And now this happened.
