    Beautiful Bay !
Good Beach for water activities other than Havelock. Limited restaurants are available. Veg and Non Veg , Fast food options are available. Water activities are also limited. Island has few Souvenirs shops as well. Rates of Souvenirs are competitive as compared to other locations. Semisubmarine activity is not recommended here as its waste of money. Good to do activity is Snorkling.

    Snorkeling
I took a ferry here with Ross island pkg which is book at port blair jetty. You will spend more time here. This place is specifically designed for water sports plus there's a lighthouse to explore which I missed. I did the snorkeling which cost 1000 rupees including gear and 100 for locker. I ended up paying another 1000 rupees so I could be taken out further with more time and glad I did. The guide allowed me to view very colorful coral gardens with vivid fish but be careful I got many cuts from the coral.

I had wasted a lot of money on the glass boats on my trip to Andaman. The agents would create a great hype about the dolphin boat but would recommend you never fall in their trap. Your wont be able to see the rich marine life as they tend to swim away from the boat due to its size and water jet. Of the total 25 min ride they show the corals for only 15 min and for the rest of time it is just a speed boat which they call as fun ride. Go for this ride only in the last case when you are really afraid to death of snorkeling and scuba. This ride is waste of money as it costed me 2250 for the 25 min ride.

Nothing is there if you are not doing any under water activity like snorkeling, scuba, glass boat because local guards will not even allow to step into the sea water except these activities which is costly than Neil island. I had bitter experience of dishonesty as I wrongly paid extra amount for snorkeling but they denied straight away.I don't blame them as I paid wrongly but it's the opposite experience what I had heard about.

We went to North bay and the agent in water sports complex convinced us to go for semi submarine ride, costed us 1850/person. The ride started and we were given old apple juice as welcome drink which we asked to change n they did with a little hesitation. The boad had a lower dock which had glass windows we were asked to go down in some 15-20 mins after the ride started we went down to see the coral n marine life, we could see nothing through the glass tried to the person in-charge he said it's low tide so it is not clearly visible, I demanded a refund as even glass boat ride was better than this he said we will speak to his seniors and get back.

Few minutes later he gave me his phone saying the owner wanted to talk, I took the phone and asked him his name, he said he is Gaurav the owner of the boat and he started yelling that you are creating a scene on the boat and threatened me saying you come to port Blair and he will show me who he is and stuff like that.

Personal request not to take this ride as it is a rip off and a scam.

Avoid going here instead stay more in Havelock

North island is the sea side entrance to Port Blair and has the lighthouse. This scenery is featured in the old Rs 20 note which is pink in colour and the locals are proud about it. This island is a must visit for those who want to see corals. There are multiple options to see corals including scuba diving etc. Cheaper option is to go by a regular glass bottomed boat. Better option would be to take the submarine boat which is quite nice and clean with toilets etc. It has an undercarriage which goes below water for u to see the corals. I did not get into scuba or snorkeling etc. Lighthouse is a short walk away and nothing exceptional about it. The island lacks basic amenities like a decent toilet and restaurants. That was a real dampener. In fact the only decent toilet was in the submarine boat. Pls do go to the island for the corals and nice blue and clean water.

Snokeling on North Bay island is pretty good and a lot of fun for first-time snorkel. However, the pricing is a bit of a scam. They show you really nice fish for 1000 rupees (15-minutes) and then ask for 500 rupees more midway through the snorkel trip if you want to see more. No doubt the extra 500 rupees is worth it and you get to see a lot of marine life. However, it would be best if they take the 1500 rupees upfront and take you for the whole ride instead of asking if you want to pay more in the middle of the ride! The marine life is very colourful, a lot of variety, but the corals are limited. However, overall its a good experience for a first-time snorkel experience. My cousins who also did snorkel (for 1000 rupees) on Elephanta beach (Havelock island) said its similar to the North Bay island snorkelling experience.

We had an average experience , due to pandemic everything was closed at north bay Islands, only 2 watersports and only 2,3 shops & restaurants were open. So make sure to ask about all this.
There was one Dolphin cruise which was around 2500₹ per person, its a glass bottom boat so u can see marine life through the bottom while on the ride. Thats it !! If you are planning to do scuba or snorkeling u can skip this. And if u are an elderly person or scared of going inside the water then u can go for it. Other options were snorkeling (1000₹) which is better and cheaper at elephant beach (1000₹ at elephant beach but including 20min speed boat ride to and from havlock). And water is much clearer at elephant.

There is light house at the beach.u can visit there by a track, its a short track and beautiful with all greenery alongside.

Shopping u can buy clothes, shell jwellery, keychains etc.

I would never advice you to waste your day here if you have completed your tour to Elephanta beach and Havelock. It was a total waste of my day here.
We used Silver Sea Line . Charges Rs.770 pp .started at 10:30 am n dropped us back at 4pm. Ross Island 1 hour and remainder of the time at North Bay.
Most of the place has been destroyed during the Tsunami and the latest cyclone that occurred a couple of months back.
Here we seen the area where the scenic beauty is captured on a Rs 20 note. A lot of sports activities are available like Dolphine ride for Rs 2k, Submarine ride for Rs1800 and Deep Sea Scuba diving for Rs 3.5k... At North Bay they do not follow safety norms like they do at Elephanta Beach .
There are a couple of eateries that provide basic Veg n Non Veg food on this island. Also a few small shops that sell artifacts and ready made beach wear.
The whole beack area needs deep cleaning. Need proper Changing rooms for people coming from water sports activities. No proper bathing area and toilets.

Best time to visit:

Owing to its geographical features, the Andamans stays warm across the year but with sea breezes. Though Andamans can be visited throughout the year, winters are the best time to plan for the islands.

How to reach:

One can either take a ship or a flight to the Andamans. Veer Savarkar International Airport is the only airport at Port Blair that connects major cities of the country viz. Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Vishakhapatnam and Bhubaneswar.

Got scammed by Semi subramine who charged us 2500 for underwater view of coral and fishes. Could not see anything and a total waste of money. Excuse given is there is not enough sunlight although we boarded the boat at 2pm and there was full sunlight. They took the money upfront before allowing us to view the semi submarine. Called the manager Gaurav who did not care. The bill was given to us only after we reached back and we insisted. This is a complete sham and scam where even govt fees like GST are not being paid by owners. I request everyone not to be carried away by drivers, false reviews, internet videos, etc. and avoid this scam submarine. Instead do a glass bottom or snorkeling or scuba if health permits. We never expected such bad customer experience, false promises and lousy treatment by management.
