It is an unique experience considering what it showcases. The corals and knowledge about the Islands. The range of sea-shells are a treat, never seen before. Two examples of the houses of the indigenous people. A great showcase of the massive whale skeleton preserved at the entrance.

A small but informative museum which gives you a good overview of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, be it history, marine life or a peek into the daily life of the original inhabitants.

This is an amazingly beautiful place. You can easily cover this museum in less than 1 hour. It is maintained by the Indian Navy. It summarizes the whole of Andaman Nicobar with Photos, Graphics, Modals, Jewellery etc. Whale Skeleton is really awesome especially for Kids.

Its Naval Marine Museum- SAMUDRIKA. This museum is maintained by Indian Navy. It displays many sea creautes like fish, shells, corals, lifestyle of Jarawa and Nicobari people etc. Right now, it is under minor renovation and will be completed in 2 to 3 days. So, better to plan after that. Timings is from 0900 hrs 1300 hrs. Then 1400 hrs to 1700 hrs. Ticket price is Rs. 50/- for adult and Rs. 25/- for child (05 to 12 Yrs). There is a shop also to buy some stuff for home. Must see this.

The Marine Museum has loads of information about the Andaman islands, their history, the native settlers and sea life species. My husband and I enjoyed our visit here. Try to visit after lunch hours and it is not crowded so you can enjoy the display at a leisurely pace.

The marine museum is really informative, especially the collection of shells and corals. The sea shell display includes cowries, conchs etc. Some of these artifacts are extremely rare and really beautiful to look at.
But, if you're expecting lot of variety in marine life, you'll be left with disappointment. The ticket cost per person is Rupees Fifty.

Nice museum but don't buy anything from the shop inside. It's a loot. Instead buy from government shops.
