A must do activity once in a lifetime
Dec 2020
Although the trip is a bit longish due to the slow boat which takes you to the island however, the glass bottom ride is just awesome. Do not hesitate to spend the 1000 Rs for the full 1 hour view, it is worth it. For the information of everyone- they give a 10 mins complimentary glass bottom ride on this trip (they say its 15 mins but its actually just a teaser). they then have options- 300Rs for additional 15 mins, 600 Rs for half hour and 1000 Rs for full 1 hour covering 15 different types of marine life. A must go activity I must say the view is very clear.

Crystal clear water and stunning under water sighting.
Dec 2020 • Couples
Visited the place in the last week of Dec, 2020. Crystal clear water and the best underwater sighting from glass bottom boat.

It is very difficult to book the jolly bouy trip as you have to book the ticket in person. Gopal took care of the booking procedure completely and delivered the tickets to our hotel the day before the trip.

Gopal knows Andamans inside out. Unlike other agents who try to loot you, he is totally honest and goes the extra mile to make your trip comfortable. He submitted application for the govt ferry, booked tickets for jolly bouy island trip, helped me with 2 wheeler hire and all the other little things that really made our trip comfortable.

Please contact Gopal (9531918600/9933202151). For any guidance in andaman like permits, ferry booking, transportation, etc.

Best Snorkeling site nearest to Port Blair
Feb 2020
Jolly Buoy island is the best Snorkelling site closest to Port Blair. We could enjoy the Corals & Marine life just through Glass Bottom Boats as officially Snorkelling activities were banned by the auth from Jan'2020 onwards. As this was part of conservation of marine life, we too supported the initiatve & did not avail services of unauthorized guys. But remember to get permit a day before from Dir of Tourism office near Post Office in the city. This is planned for the 1st half of the day & then, afternoon to Sunset, Wandoor Beach can be visited. In case of public transport transfers, the last bus to Port Blair departs around 6 pm.

Good Beach
Dec 2019
It is far from city and a day trip is required to cover the island. You have to go to Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park to catch a ferry to reach the island followed by a glass boat ride. This island is known for its corals and one can do snorkeling over there.

"NOT TO BE MISSED IN LIFE !!" is the feeling !!
Mar 2020
1. Tight security check to avoid plastic invasion to this wonderful island, was very assuring & I appreciated the staff doing it ! Idea of water bottle provided on deposit pay basis, is also a good idea & very practical. Thanks to our Govt !!

2. the small Cruse taking to Island with its guide is very friendly & informative !

3. Fees are reasonable ( for all trips at Jolly Buoy ) !! e.g Coral View trip of 1 hr costs Rs 1000/ each & is worth it !!

4. CORAL VIEWING & SEA LIFE VIEWING through Glass bottom boats is a memorable & life time experience !! Do Not Miss It !! Go For 1 hr ride only & not short time rides !

5. Island is speak & span, absolutely safe & sea water is like what we see in all hollywood & Bollywood movies ! Absolutely clean, Blue & Awesome !! Surrounding nature very pleasant !!

6. Rest rooms are just for the purpose !

7. Carry eatables without any plastic rappers / bags but in your glass or steel containers which you can use & bring back

Staff takes good care in ride & explains very well !!

Overall AWESOME & AMAZING !

Must visit if you are a beach lover!!
Feb 2020
Visited in Feb’2020. Need to purchase permit beforehand through IP&T office in Port Blair one day before the travel date, I suppose or .. of course through agent and starting point of the boat at Wandoor beach …some 30-40 minutes from Port Blair. Being a no plastic zone, which is gr8, packing food in paper boxes and transferring drinking water in bottles available on hire for small deposit and Rs 5 charge is necessary. After getting screened for single use plastic free travel, a 40 minute boat ride will transfer you to a paradise beach on earth. A small, secluded island, open only for 6 months in a year, with limited allowed tourist footfall is simply wonderful with activities of swimming in a small marked part in pristine water and highly advertised glass bottom ride. This is supposed to be the 2nd best coral reef. You can see a lot of corals and fishes through the magnified glass view through glass bottom boat with additional cost of Rs. 500, 1000 or more. But my take is.. stick to may be Rs 500 package as you get to see a lot within half an hour and after a some time, the activity becomes monotonous. Some improvements like online ticketing, allowing personal snorkeling equipment within swimming area or better facilities for changing room with fresh water for bathing would be great. The water was so clear that we enjoyed swimming with fishes even in the small portion. The presence of vigilant lifeguards was satisfying feature. In short…Must visit if you are a beach lover!!

It is simply the Paradise
Jan 2020 • Family
This is the best beach island in Andaman. You need a permit which should be done 2 days earlier to the date of visit to the island. Pristine and secluded place. You must do the glass-bottom boat ride here. No other water activity is allowed here. Water is clear like mirror. Try to catch the first boat to island that leaves around 7.30 am. You have to return again at 2 pm.
