Review of: Diving day
Absolutely amazing and professional diving place. Me and my boyfriend wanted to do our advanced open water certification in Tahiti. They booked us for 5 fun dives: navigation, wreck, drift, buoyancy, and deep dive. We did it over two days, and we wish we had done it everyday in Tahiti! It was such a blast. Our instructor was Marie-Charlotte. She is so calm underwater and really communicated well on the debriefs.…

Here’s the good: The dive masters - Marie and Andre - we very good and wanted us to have a great experience. 1st dive w/Mary - we had 10 divers and 2 dive masters (2 groups). The dive lasted 38 minutes because one of the divers ran out of air and had to buddy breath through his safety stop… (i hadn't reached 1/2 a tank yet...) We were transported back to the shop to exchange tanks and do our surface interval. The shop had coffee, tea and water for us. Here’s the not so good: the 2nd dive had 20 divers on the boat - there were 5 in our group, but we were on a zodiac - there was not space for 20 divers and that was an accident waiting to happen. The dive sites are not even close to the reef life on Bora Bora or Moorea - if you want a good experience - take the ferry!…

My husband and I started our French Polynesia trip in Tahiti. He is a dive master but I had gotten my open water in 2011 and hadn’t dove since. I was exceptionally nervous for these dives. I corresponded this with the shop and right from the get go they were great at putting my mind at ease. Our dive masters Roman and Batise were so helpful and kind!! Roman made sure to go over all the important skills etc that I would have forgotten and gave me all the personal attention I needed. There was not end to all of their kindness and professionalism and I would recommend to anyone!…

We are novice divers with absolutely no experience beyond our weekend open dive certification. We opted for a two dive morning with Eleuthera as it was the only PADI 5 star shop in Papeete. Turned out to be a great choice. Nicolas was our dive guide. He was incredibly patient and very good dive master. He taught us some additional skills and never once did either of us feel embarrassed or insecure about our lack of dive expertise. The dive shop well appointed and could clearly accommodate divers of all skills. Definitely recommend. …

Review of: Diving day
I spent 2 days on Tahiti, and on one of those days I did 3 dives with Eleuthera. Overall I had a good experience. The dives leads were patient and good about shepherding us tourist around, the staff was experienced and helpful, and they provided travel to and from the lodge I was staying at. The dives were good, and although there were no sharks, the dives still rival those I had on Moorea. I'm definitely glad that I took the time to dive Tahiti. The first dive of the day was at a wreck, but the wreck had pretty much disintegrated except for a single side of the boat, so it was really just a reef dive. I was running low on air, so one of the dive masters had me use their octo for the remainder of the dive. I have never had that happen before, but I was happy I didn't have to end the dive early. The second dive was in the lagoon. There was a wrecked plane and several wrecked boats, and plenty of interesting reef fish. At one point I was apparently agitating a triggerfish, and one of the dive masters waved me over because they did not want me to get bitten. I didn't know they would be that aggressive. The final dive was a wall dive near a freshwater spring. There were plenty of turtles and large fish, including a sheephead. The rental gear was in good shape. They still use weight belts, and not weight integrated BCD's, which is a little disappointing. Their boat was small but zippy, which made the ride out fun. If I ever go back to Tahiti I would gladly dive with Eleuthera again.…
