I did my open water certification with Ocean Sports, what an experience! Julie leads a very professional yet lively and fun team. Everyone at the dive shop is very welcoming, warm and fun to be with. Everyday we come to the dive shop with Fijian song sung by the crew, then with Julie's brief of the day. The diving sites are breathtakingly beautiful, the snacks we get between dives are something I look forward to after my first dive of the day. I am so grateful that I chose Ocean Sports as the place to do my certification. My instructor Semi is the best, very encouraging, professional, yet leaves room for me to learn and make mistakes. I would recommend anyone who wants to get certified either open water or advanced come to Taveuni Ocean Sports, I surely will go back with friends and do my advance certification there. So long and later.

We just finished 6 days of diving with Taveuni Ocean Sports and we couldn't be happier with our experience. Right from the initial email inquiry Julie was fantastic to deal with and provided so much information on what to expect and information about the Rainbow Reef. She kept us informed via Whatsapp on any daily changes due to weather. Her smiling face greeted us each morning and introduced the divers to each other. The dive team was amazing. Very attentive and willing to help. They set up dive gear for anyone who needed help and upon exiting the water would help you with your gear and tanks and get you back to your space. The dive team of Frank, Maika, and Pio were very professional in all aspects. From selecting dive spots that were suitable for the skill level of the diver to assisting divers in the water if they needed anything. There was one diver in our group that was a new open water diver and they put him with his own dive guide for the trip in case he needed extra help, which I thought was incredible! I have been on many dive trips and have never seen this level of care. They kept the groups to 3 or 4 people maximum for every dive guide. Each morning Tulia was right on time to pick us up and transport us to the dive shop. She was very helpful at helping with all our equipment and always had a smile. The dives always left on time every morning and the operation runs very smoothly. Also want to thank Pela and Frank for being our boat captains and maneuvering the boat so well even on days the weather wasn't the best.Pela always helped to serve the lunch and help divers out of the water. Thanks for a wonderful week! We will definitely be back.

Her vast experience and deep understanding of the underwater world is evident in the way she leads each dive, making sure that every diver feels safe and confident.
The dive team at this operation is simply outstanding. Not only are they excellent guides, but they are also talented underwater naturalists. They have a deep appreciation for the beauty and wonder of the ocean, and their passion for marine life shines through on every dive. They are always on the lookout for interesting creatures, and they are more than happy to share their knowledge and help you get the most out of your dive.
The equipment and facilities at this dive operation are top-notch, and the team goes above and beyond to make sure that everything is well-maintained and in top working order. They are always happy to answer any questions you may have and offer suggestions on how to get the most out of your dive.
In my three months diving with Julie and her team, I encountered some of the most amazing marine life I have ever seen. The team was always eager to help me get the best shots, and they made sure that I was always in the right place at the right time to see the most fascinating creatures.

The White Wall is truly one of the most spectacular scuba experiences in the world and the dive team at Taveuni Ocean Sports was outstanding. Maika was our instructor and he was a true professional. We were lucky enough to see the White Wall. The soft white coral is only fully extended on the full moon, but sometimes it is visible for two days in a month. We dived to a tunnel like cave which extended down and before I knew it, we were in front of the wall. It seemed to extend into infinity in length and the depth was unfathomable. I stayed right beside Maika and my total depth was 28 metres. The visibility was excellent. In the cave were orange disk fish. There were clouds of Antheas for which the Somo Somo straight is famous. I saw a decorated dart which appeared fluoro pink and orange. There were many species I had never seen before, even though I've dived the Great Barrier Reef many times. The crew, Julie and the whole team made this experience very special!

What a wonderful team and what great dives! Everyone from the first email contact was just great! Julie helped organize everything, including recommending a hotel in my budget. Tulia was so kind with pick ups and drop offs. Frank was one of the best dive guides I've had in my life (and I'm a dive guide, so I'm picky). Frank's briefing was detailed and accurate, he knows the reef incredibly well -telling us in advance exactly where the currents would take us, and where to hide. He also spotted things that I would never have found without him. Even though we were only 4 divers, Julie put a second guide on the boat with us, because one of the divers was new and they went seperately, avoiding the more difficult currents our group took. The new diver was also really happy with his dives and I was impressed that they did that for us. Thanks Julie, Frank, Tulia and team!

My partner and I dove with Pela and Frank aboard a group charter. I’ve completed dives in a variety of locations with a variety of companies and various conditions. I can without a doubt in my mind, say that Taveuni Ocean Sports is hands down the best company with which I have done a charter to date. I have yet to see a more professional organization and an organization more caring of its divers. What amazed me the most was the care Frank took in reassuring my partner and easing her concerns with the conditions that unnerved her slightly, as she had not yet faced a current previously, while diving. She had also some trouble on a previous dive the week prior with equalization. Frank ensured he oversaw the dive according to her comfort level, resulting in a smooth dive, free of any issues. Between dives, he took the time to educate us on the marine ecosystem we would encounter and brought along an underwater writing kit to explain the names of the various species we were encountering. While TOS could easily charge a ton more for their dives, they keep it extremely affordable, especially relative to other dive companies in the area. To say I was impressed is an understatement. I can’t thank Frank and Pela enough. These dives were priceless when considering the quality of the crew and the experience they provided. Thank you Taveuni Ocean Sports - you gents will forever have my recommendation!

We paid 140FJD ($70 USD) for a snorkeling trip out to Rainbow Reef that lasted for about half of the day.
It was an awesome trip.
Margarite at the dive shop was very flexible with scheduling our trip and allowed us to postpone our trip several days due to rainy weather until we finally ended up with a perfect day to snorkel.
The cost of the dive included a wet suit and the guides were good and gave us excellent instructions on how and where to dive once we were at the Rainbow Reef.
Rainbow Reef was amazing and is the best place to see fish and sea life. Several times we had amazing views of large schools of fish right next to us!
If you're scuba diving you can also go down and under the Great White Wall.
Finally, sandwiches and snacks were included as part of the trip which was great because we were a bit hungry about half way through the afternoon.

A first class operation, I’m always worried when going to a small island as quality is often variable and when they said they didn’t have nitrox I thought Oh no here we go, one man and his dog operator but from the pick up to the final dive they were excellent. The boats are very good for diving, the boat captains excellent and the guides first class. I hope to return to Taveuni and will definitely choose them again

Had a wonderful dive experience with Taveuni Ocean Sports! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Went with them on my first fun dives after being certified at home. Felt so safe and well looked after. There was a dive master for each small group of 2/3. And mine were very patient and knew just how to adjust my gear so that I had a great dive. Rainbow Reef and Whitewall were incredible!!! Our dive master was even able to find so often hard to see species.
Taveuni Ocean Sports has everything we needed on the boat. And their snacks were delicious!
Can not recommend them enough! Had not a great experience with my certification dive shop and was rethinking if scuba was for me. But Taveuni Ocean Sports was such a wonderful experience and really showed me how incredible scuba can be!!

My scuba buddy and I chose to dive the Rainbow Reef with TOS, and we are so glad we did. The entire crew really goes above & beyond to make sure their guests have a great time, from beginning to end. To start, Julie was extremely friendly & helpful while I was emailing back & forth for more info during the months leading up to our trip. In person too, she’s just the sweetest dive instructor you’ll ever meet. Julie was always super professional & whenever she was our divemaster, she’d spot lots of cool stuff for us to see. Tulia took care of our pickups & drop offs—she’s simply an amazing & kind-hearted superwoman of a lady.
Diving with the entire crew was just a stellar experience. We always felt safe & well taken care of, and it’s definitely worth noting that they take your personal requests into consideration with things like repeating or not repeating dive sites (as weather permits, of course). They prepare a light lunch everyday for everyone, which really hit the spot during our surface intervals. As for the diving itself, the Rainbow Reef was utterly stunning. Definitely the best, most colorful soft corals we’ve ever seen, and some reef structures (like the Cabbage Patch) were out of this world beautiful. The viz did fluctuate a lot day by day, but on certain dives the view was unbelievably crystal clear, easily over 100’. A+++ must-see experience!
To the entire TOS crew—you can believe us when we say you’ve been the best dive operation we’ve seen in our 16 years of diving. Julie, Tulia, Masi, Mani, Maika, Frank, Joseph, Tom, Pela—thank you all for making our dive experience in Fiji the best it could possibly be!!!

I have looked through trip advisor and the Taveuni website and I can't figure out where these tours leave from. Where do I need to get to in order to get on their boats?

For many, they’ll pick you up at your hotel and drive you there. If you want to go there on your own, they’re located next to Nakia Resort and Dive.

Bula, this is my first time to be in Fiji on July this year.
But I have no idea where can I join dive program, especially for the shark diving.
Should I book some specific resort or hotel for the program?
Also, my wife do not have the certificate for diving. I wonder if there is any program we can join?

I recommend June. Although the water water temperature is abit chilled But visibility is perfect and more big fish action. Manta rays, whales in the way to the dive sites and sunny days. But I hope you find a free spot because it's the busy season.

I'm coming over next week, primarily to snorkel with a friend from UK who is visiting me... what's the snorkelling like with you, or are you primarily at spots for divers/ deep corals? Assuming you are the operation near bibi's/ Beverly campground?
