- lucycornLiverpool, United Kingdom190 contributionsI’m writing this review hoping to spare others the frustration we had accessing this beach. The more expensive hotels restrict access to the beach in front of their hotel. There is a small area to the far left( facing the sea) of the lighthouse which has 3 public beaches. The first, which you access via a lot of steps, just after the Jaz Fanara Resort is tiny and very crowded, costs 300 Egyptian pounds entry fee, has no toilet and is expensive. Not recommended! (I think it might be called Egyptian Village, but no signs). As you continue round the bend in the road to the left, you reach the sea, with a monument. On the left is the Renaissance Golden View hotel. There’s a car park on the right and this gives access to 2 areas - El Fanar and Del Mare. Both are good and both cost 150 pounds for entry. Both have access to the jetty and steps into the sea. Both have toilets and reasonably priced restaurants (eg: 200 pounds for pizza, 200 pounds for cocktail) with reasonable quality. Del Mare has some more luxurious sun beds, but is a smaller area than El Fanar. You reach the reef drop off via the jetty. The reef there is beautiful, lots of fish, colourful coral. When we visited, there was a very strong current towards the left, so you need to be careful, as getting back to the jetty, even with fins was hard work. You can swim the reef along the whole beach, you just can’t walk along, due to barriers. The reef flat nearer the shore is not well protected, so the coral is mostly dead, but there are still lots of fish. The other end of the beach is the Farsha Cafe. It only costs 100 pounds entry fee and has good facilities. It has beach access as well. However, the food and drinks here are relatively very expensive and poor quality and we did not return.Visited January 2025Traveled as a coupleWritten January 23, 2025
- Дмитрий Ш1 contributionDrove five days straight to this beach. The reef is beautiful a lot of fish. But the cafe restaurant is just a bit of a shambles, firstly the price of coffee went up every day, secondly when the dollar settlement rate dropped from 50 to 45 pounds (although officially 52) and thirdly the waiters who are not friendly can take half a cup of the cafe you left near the deckchair and expected to drink a little later, and then just hammer.Visited December 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten December 25, 2024
- Silvia CProvince of Lucca, Italy63 contributionsthe barrier is very nice, it is accessed from the bars in the area, cost of sunbed and umbrella 3/5 euros per day. organized and international staff, speak English correctly (which is not always obvious), free showers. small beach with access to the sea before the barrier, suitable for children while from the pier you enter a natural aquarium. the barrier is guarded until 18/18.30 and the staff is very attentive and helpfulVisited September 2024Traveled with familyWritten October 21, 2024
- Р М1 contributionIf you fly to Charm and your hotel hangs a red flag, do not despair, take a taxi and run to El Fanar beach, which is in Hadaba district.Admission is $4 . Excellent, windless bay, high rocky mountains protect from wind. Smooth entrance to the sea, convenient for children who do not swim well. Thanks to the coral reefs, you can see beautiful fish, be sure to bring masks if you have fins, a towel, snack and water, or in a cafe. Cons: They don't give us a towel, there's no change of clothes, we didn't know where the toilet was, it was a boon for two hours. To whom it scares I can offer Terrazino beach all the facilities, but no reefs.Visited January 2025Traveled with familyWritten January 17, 2025
- Pratyush M128 contributionsThe diving spot is very nice. The entrance to the beach may feel that it requires some maintenance. Other than that, its a good place to dive in. Beware of the diving operators working here. They might charge exorbitant money for the photos that they click for you while you dive.Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 17, 2024
- John HendryDurham, United Kingdom6 contributionsYou must visit here for the fantastic reef which is locally known as Ras Um Sid. The admission is now 150 EGP which includes a bottle of water. The coffee from the restaurant is to die for as well as the epic customer service from all the staff.Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 12, 2024
- Janice E11 contributionsI get what someone else said about the Russians, they are a law unto themselves but the climate, surroundings, reef and fish/via snorkelling is fantastic. Ignore the Ruskkies if you can. My first time in Egypt. We were not hassled ever. Two ladies on our own, helpful staff, £150 Egyptian pounds is nothing and you get a towel and water. Nothing was too much trouble for the boys assisting us. They played fabulous music at a sensible volume. Personally I thought it was good value for money!!! The reef and snorkelling made my whole trip worthwhile!Visited January 2025Traveled with friendsWritten January 26, 2025
- Alice BCassola, Italy73 contributionsGreat place, the coral reef and the sea are beautiful. Access to the sea is easy and from a wooden pier. The beach is equipped and with 3€ each you have the sunbed for the whole day. Eventually you can eat something there, there is a bar equipped. For diving lovers there is also a diving center. Beautiful colors and calm sea. Highly recommended to see at least once in the holiday.Visited January 2025Traveled with familyWritten January 5, 2025
- Venture549019605302 contributionsQuite nice place. Restaurant has many options. We found nice ice coffee here only in Sharm. It doesnt have a beach but it has a a nice place to dive. The prices are sometimes different than the menu. It sometimes change even during the day but staff is nice and helpful.Visited November 2024Traveled with friendsWritten November 7, 2024
- internationalgypsyUkMorpeth, United Kingdom31 contributionsPublic access beach, 150 Egyptian pound for access with bed, umbrella and bottle water. Easy access to shallow water and deeper water for decent snorkeling and diving access point. The reef if still in fair condition and the best option so close to Sharm.Visited December 2024Traveled soloWritten December 9, 2024

By far the most beautiful coral reef and panorama we have seen in our trips to Sharm.
Much more than Ras Mohamed and Tiran.
There are now two venues: El Fanar and Cuba.
Next to each other.
We stayed at CUBA because it is on a corner and the sunset is much more beautiful to see.
100 Egyptian pounds each with umbrella and sunbeds and a bottle of water each.
Unfortunately the sunbeds are dirty and unkempt but everything else is 10.
There is a bathroom and shower.
There is also a diving center, very friendly staff.
Second but it's really worth a lot, unless you stay in one of the resorts overlooking the same bay.

El Fanar is a small beach equipped with bathroom and showers in a beautiful bay quite protected from the wind. Guarded pier with access to the reef, beautiful reef full of corals and fish. You pay €5 per person (children under 12 years old are free) for use of the sunbed, umbrella and bottle of water.
The nearby beach is called Cuba and has the older sunbeds.

This review is very similar to a review from 5 years ago. I have visited the place many times over the last 15 years, but all the time it has gotten worse and worse as far as the place not being maintained and the eating places being both expensive and bad there. Everything is very neglected and dingy. Price for entry is EGP 150 = twice as much as before 5 years ago, and then a loan towel was also included. The place needs a loving hand, thus also a few steps, so that you can get into the water in several places. There is far too much focus on the egyptian staff on the site to make some quickly earned money without having to provide neither proper service nor ensuring that the site is maintained. The range of beautiful corals and fish has been greatly reduced since I started coming here 15 years ago.
Another significant minus of the place here is the amount of Russian tourists, who with their loud behavior and lack of respect for the fact that you are not allowed to just wade around on the corals, help to destroy the place in record time. However, it is still a beautiful snorkelling spot above average, where you can swim out into the deep from shallow water with good visibility.

A beautiful beach and the sea is full of corals, so suitable for snorkelling too. Because it's pretty big, it may take time to get attention of waiting staff, but you still can go to bar and order there in person. Definitely recommend.

The beach is beautiful and I found it not expensive at all. The coral is one of the most impressive I've ever seen.
The staff is friendly and there are several options on the menu. I consider this one of Top-rated places in sharm considering it also has a part of the beach for those who just want to get feet and legs in.

Very positive hotel. Small, intimate, in the city center. Surrounded by shops, bars, restaurants. Small, sandy, but great beach. And beautiful sea. Animations every day, food ok. Plenty, certainly no one goes hungry. Nice swimming pool and slides for children. I recommend this hotel. We are very satisfied.

Visited this beach twice during my stay. The snorkelling is excellent, especially from the pier. The staff ensure you are safe and advise swimmers about currents. We lunched twice, and the food was good and reasonably priced.

Ideal for divers! The spot is amazing. On land deck chairs sea view and a really nice restaurant bar. After two beautiful dives we enjoyed a delicious pizza (really good). Ideal for snorkeling also with a beautiful reef. Anyway, go ahead!

There's no real beach but there is a jetty with thousands of fish and coral around.
We discovered this place because the company i was diving suggested it as a dive-site. We then went there a further 3 times after the dive.
The sunbeds are not crowded and are set on the slope to the water.
The food was satisfying and the beer was very cold :) The staff were very friendly and helpful. In the evening they've got some lighting and put some tables by the waters edge.

Some reviews say there are no toilets? What is the verdict on that?

This is the private beach you have to pay I think it was about £65 Egypt and the toilets are up on top across from the showers and the restaurant

Ciao!
