This is the only mosque in Hurghada that tourists may go to. It’s next to the marina and it’s called ‘the boat’ because of this.

Women can only enter dressed appropriately, which means long sleeves and bottom whith a scarf. You can rent it for 20 egp or pay €1,- instead.

It is a nice mosque, but nothing special. If you have never been to a mosque, do go there. It’s a nice experience. If you have seen more, then you might not like it. Like I said, nothing special. I did like the fact that stray cats weren’t sent away, but could walk freely. So humane.

Beautiful mosque on the harbour. A shipyard on the left and a fish market on the right, which makes the beautiful building stand out.
Women must be covered but for €1 you can rent 2 robes to enter.
Men are allowed to be uncovered.
The mosque can accommodate 10,000 worshipers (inside + outside).
Inside it is a bit kitschy for me and too much carpet.
But definitely visit if you can.

As of this date, 7/5/21, the mosque is closed to visitors. But remains beautiful to look at from the outside. Sun shining on the domes is beautiful. The fish market is nearby and interesting to walk through. It’s unfortunate I wasn’t able to enter.

El Mina Mosque in Hurghada boasts stunning architecture and a considerable carpeted area. The carpets go well with the wonderful interior design and color palette. Anyone visiting Hurghada on holiday must see this stunning building. With gratitude to shikh Mohamed

I often go to Hurghada, generally alone but this time we were in the company of friends and relatives, we spent a wonderful holiday in a setting that was nothing short of breathtaking. From dawn to dusk and on August 31st we also saw the brightness of the blue moon, visit to the desert, visit to the Hurghada Mosque, shopping at the Marina and in the various local shops... I can't wait to go back soon.

This beautiful Mosque is located close to the Marina, therefore easy to visit. It is a new mosque, dating from 2012 and has magnificent architecture. As with all mosques, this one also has its own dress code for entry. Access is free.

We came across the mosque by accident when strolling near the Marina. What a pleasant experience this was! Ladies are given hooded garments to wear, and inside the mosque there are people available to welcome you, answer any questions and encourage you to take leaflets explaining different aspects of Islam. We didn't stay long but it's definitely worth stopping by, and we got some great photos too.

On this excursion you should only visit the mosque, go through the souvenir shops and buy sweets. The fish market is useless. The Marina embankment - there’s nothing to do there either. Well, these yachts stand and stand, that’s all business. I tried to take a photo, no, nothing special from the outside, I deleted it .But the camel is beautiful for rides.

We came here in late afternoon. It is a very nice mosque to look at with its many domes. We could only view from the outside as it was prayer time. It is still worthy the visit and the fish market is nearby so combine a visit to the two.

El Mina Mosque, or the so-called Heavenly Mosque, is one of the most famous and most beautiful mosques in the governorate of the Red Sea in terms of architecture. Al Mina (or El Mina) Mosque was first built in 1968. However, recently the old building was replaced by a modern one. The construction of the new building started in 2006. In comparison, the government officially opened this new building in 2012, and it can accommodate 9000-10000 worshipers. The beautiful mosque is located in the heart of Hurghada, right next to Hurghada Marina and the Hurghada Shipyard. The Mosque was built out of pure white marble. This impressive building has two magnificent minarets, each about 40-metres high. Also, the facades of the building are decorated with traditional, oriental ornaments and carvings. The interior of the mosque is magnificent, the inner hall is richly decorated, with magnificent chandeliers hanging elegantly from the ceiling, complex arches, carved and engraved walls and a dome 25 meters high. It is open for visitors daily from 9.00-17.00 (except the praying times). The entrance is free.
