The first time I visited was March (a cold and windy day with a very rough sea); indeed, on the island arrived just our boat with eight divers. The second time was in October, a perfect sunny day with hundreds of tourists. In my opinion, it is worth anyway to visit this small paradise.
Pro: A small island with perfect white sand and clear water to relax or snorkel around. The trip prices to reach the place are affordable.
Cons: Usually too crowded. There are no structures where you can sleep overnight, and the boats usually leave the island in the early afternoon.
On the island is just one bar selling food and drinks; obviously, the prices are high.
Recommend wearing boots or water shoes as there are some stones.

We had a great time snorkeling around the Giftun area and didn't find it too crowded when we went. If you're a good swimmer you can get some distance and enjoy the reefs and colourful fish. Call ahead and check with your resort in Hurghada to see if they have an on-site company for a tour or check online for a tour for your interests.
We would suggest bringing your own water or drinks because Orange Island is a little pricey. Our tour only offered soft drinks and coffee so we were happy to have our own water.

2 years ago after 10 full days in all the ancient relics of Egypt the end of our stay ended with a trip to Giftun Island. Although we don't expect much, this was the icing on the cake. Super professional staff who ensured the safety of tourists in all snorkeling areas, very good food and suitable for sea trips and the most important thing for me was to explore areas where I have never seen a boat. There I had the opportunity to see fish bigger than me. I'll be in Egypt again next week and these guys are first on my list

Boat trip to the actual island was nice and good views across to the mosque.
The actually island is just a big sand mound with a massive wooden structure built on it. It is a tourist trap with everything having to be paid for even the toilet
The beach is too shallow to swim in merely for a paddle.
The swings and hammocks are nice for photos but there is nothing else to do there. 1.5 hours there is more than enough .

We went on a boat trip to Orange Bay with snorkeling. Whilst the snorkeling was fun and we did see some beautiful fish the coral reef is bleached and dead. I can only imagine what it was once like and it's very sad to see it like this.
Orange bay is supposed to be a paradise Island. It really isn't. There must have been 15 boats at least bringing people to the bay. You get herded to marked off areas and the guaranteed sun loungers are set out in rows of two with an isle in the middle and are more like bean bags on the floor. The sea is nice but not really any different from the beach at our hotel. If you want a picture on the swing you will need to queue for ages, we didn't bother.
Drinks are very expensive and there was one waiter for our section so the service was slow. 2hrs here was ample.

Orange Bay is a very paradisiac beach, beatiful water, so many colors of blue.
When you get there, there is lots of tents for the tourists, but by the time we were there (around 1PM) there werent many peopple around, which made the visit very pleasant.
But I suppose (by the number of tents available) it can get crowded.
Anyways it is a must see in Urghada, so much more beautiful than Urghada beaches (which are beautiful). It took around 1 hour by boat to get there.

Wonderful island with large beach and turqoaise clean water.
Giftung island are surely the perfect place to relax, swimming, spend quality time in vacation and best memories & photos.
The entrance on Paradise beach from Giftun island in February 2021: 5 €uro / person.
The prices from a beach bar are normaly (not economic, not expensive).
We have a best memories from this beautiful place. I highly recommended! 👍🏻👍🏻

Crystal-clear water and good views. Basically you get taken to this island as part of an excursion. You get a designated area to sit and then you can walk around or swim in the clear shallow water. There is a photo-genic swing but there are long queues for this. There is food available but we did not try it. There are toilet facilities available. There is a wooden structure which you can go to the top and get a good view.
Apart from the crystal-clear water there is not much of an attraction. Still you can laze around for an hour or two.

I came here, to Paradise Island, last year as part of a diving trip. It's very stunning, though overrun with tourists, including myself. Last year I made the mistake of coming on a day where is was 20 degrees and windy, making for a not so good experience. It was OK last year, but I always wanted to come back on a much nicer day.
Today, it was 25 degrees, and not windy, apart from a pleasant sea breeze. We also went to a spot further along than Paradise Island which was nice. Last year so many people were walking past and around, making it less relaxing.
I did a bit of snorkeling, which was OK, but not tonnes of fish. Maybe I've been snorkeling too much and my expectations were a bit high. Still good though. I had a nice walk around, and a bit of time lazying on the beach. We were only there an hour as it was part of a snorkeling trip, and was very much enjoyed.
Probably won't be back again, as I'm off to Sharm El Sheikh next year, but if I was, I may go to Orange Bay-part of the same Island, but even more quieter. Very much worth a visit though.

We took a boat from our hotel. The trip was amazing as we saw a school of dolphins. The snorkeling off of paradise island was amazing. Moray Eels, and some many tropical fish. Clear blue water that are warm and teeming with fish. It was so nice.

Gracias

Hi, I would like to plan a full day trip to Giftun but want to visit more than one spot to explore the area. I have read some parts are nicer than others so trying to figure out where would be the nicer areas and who goes there?
Also i would prefer a company that doesnt go to the same spot as all the other boats. I am not sure how this all works but was hoping if someone can recommend a company that may be more pricey but spends more time on the island/snorkel in more than one place. Thanks for your help!

hi.while I read your comment I noted that you looking for something different, this option can't find in this Programm because Programm including for example 2 stops for snorkeling in the open sea and one stop on the island takes about 1hour and half.so you need may be reserve individual boat just for you or you with family or friends at this moment you can arrange Programm as you want.or there are another trip called mahmya allowed you spend more time on the island.
Hope that I could answer you question.
We also can offer you arrange any kind of tours.we arrange all tours

We are staying in Hurghada from Saturday. Is it best/cheaper to buy a trip from the hotel or online? Please advise of online site if that is best. Thank you

Obrigada.
Com os melhores cumprimentos,
Elisabete Silva
