We booked a Cairo trip with a flight because we were told that this way we would be at the pyramid right away in the morning. First thing to do. Not many tourists at this time . Not so hot. Realty did turn out different.the bus picked us up for the early flight, the guide "shoved" us out without any additional information. Thanks for the professional way of guiding. Arrival was on time in Cairo but then waiting in the bus at the airport for 45 minutes, just because "police as not ready"......... Then Cairo bus tour. First at the Pyramids???? The tour had tolast until 9am because the museum didn't open any earlier. So the promised first Pyramids was fact was a lie. That was the initial reason to book it. Otherwise we could as well have booked a bus trip. Wouldn't have made any difference timewise. Just less stupid airport checks. Maybe better timing as well. Even worse, was the payment. Normally the meeting point responsible should have a Cardreader. Ours didn't have one so we had to get cash from the hotel ATM. 5 times because of some local limit to 2000LE. This cost us roughly 80€ extra for our two trips. Alone for that we could have book Cairo with the bus. On arrival at the airport we got two internet SIM cards. One of them was not working at all. The pickup time for going back home was not shown anyway the day before ( even if told so by the guide, but he couldn't find it in the book as well). Meeting point Egypt, bad service, rip off on payments, wrong or missing information, promises not kept. I will book with German FTI again, but for sure I will not ever get any additional service from them in Egypt anymore.

Meeting Tour guide on Emilio Nile Cruise was called Magic. Magic he certainly was! After I complained that he was using an extortion rate converting US dollars to GBP on his little card machine we never saw him again until the last day when he was very rude to us because the cabin crew had moved our suitcase! When I challenged him he shouted I was a ‘terrible woman and we hadn’t even booked any trips’. Unbelievable, friends booked trips to the value of £540 and after his conversion it was £630! The man shouldn’t be allowed to get away with this! He only made £6 out of us but £6 on every £50 is alot of money when the trips are totalling over £400 per person. Also the £27pp (£30 actually taken) tip money paid to Magic, well none of the staff or porters see any of it, so who does get it? All in all not very impressed or happy with the service he actually didn’t provide or attitude to those like ourselves who didn’t want to do any trips,

Extremely rude employee - Mohamed Samir. They treat tourists like cattle or money donors.Travelled form Hurghada to Cairo. He made fun of my asking him to move a little - so I can catch a glimpse of the pyramids - which was the highlight of my trip. Then - when I ask his name - became nervous, said I misunderstood him and bought some sweets which I refused to take. The customer service responce? :- "he appologized to you and you "took his cadeu"?!? The were a great civilization. Unfortunately it was a long, long time ago.

We paid 350$ for individual tour to Karnak temple and Valley of kings, first of all they told us there will be sedan for our transport, but in fact it were a minibus. Guide was terrible, he was barely speaking our language, and had no knowledge about ancient egypt, we got more information from articles in wikipedia than from him, in fact some things that we heard from him are opposite to what we found out later in wikipedia, that tells us that he was too lazy to even read basic information. He was literally scratching inside his ears while talking to us, and overall a very unpleasant person. I assume that he is some sort of relative to someone, because there is little amount of good, well paid jobs in this country, and it is the only explanation of why there are no tour guides from Germany, Italy, Russia etc, only locals, at least we didn’t saw not a single one in the historical places that we visited. And not to mention insane amount of locals that will attack you on every turn, trying aggressively to sell you souvenirs or get a few euros from you in some other way, sitting all day in front of entrances to tombs doing nothing, beside of scamming people. Overall this ruins the picture of this beautiful and ancient country, I don’t recommend to anyone to buy tours from hotels or from locals, find someone from your own country that lives in Egypt and works as a guide instead, Instagram have plenty of them. I hope this message will find certain local people that organise tourism in Egypt, and they will do something, because right now I feel like I have been scammed, and it not only applies to our historical tour, but to hotel and services in it too, they need to seriously reconsider their attitude towards clients.
