Aztec artefacts
Mar 2020
There is not a great deal to see here; mainly Aztec/Inca artefacts in a sparsely populated museum. All of the display panels and information boards are only in Spanish. Worth up to an hour if you are nearby.

Not Bad for a Free Museum
Jan 2020
There are some interesting things to see here and it is free. That said, there is very little information in English. It is easy to get to for cruise ship passengers as it is located just across the road from the cruise terminal.
The building had elevators and clean restrooms.

Best for the older stuff

They had a Dali-type of exposition in addition to the usual exhibits. I prefer almost anything to Dali, so the other things things they had to offer were of more interest to me, including the history of Manta going back about 3,500 years

Some nice artwork and a few interesting artifacts. Nice and clean. Helpful staff. It's just a shame, not a lot is going on. I'm glad it was free. Not worth much time I'm afraid

Waste of time. Montecristi was much better

There were a few nice exhibitions to see. The information in English was very limited and there were no guides that could translate for us. We took a tour to Montecristi museum that was much more fun.

Yes interesting

They are close on Mondays. Admission is free. It is best to start from the fourth floor and work your way down. The fourth floor is the recent history. It has some images of the recent earthquake in 2016 with before and after images of a building that was up and went flat with an entire family that came down with it. It felt so morbid, sad, and scary.
Then work your way down to the third floor where you see other exhibits including some animation of ancient religious practice B.C.

Took longer to get in through the door than it did to see the attractions

How many clay pots can you look at before you've seen enough. This was very boring and poorly guided.
