Last year, I stopped by Galeria Aymara several times to ogle the fine art in the window. Knowing that I would be returning again this year, I kept my eye on the website to see which pieces by Miguel Illescas were still available. (The blue footed booby statues were and are a favorite.) As my trip through South America began... More

True gallery of local artisan products. Not an overstuffed gift shop. Prices vary from reasonable to very expensive, but this is fine craft and artwork, not a junk shop. My wife bought a beautiful hand-made colorful hat that we thought was very reasonably priced. Nicest gallery we saw. Down near the Darwin Research Center.

Beautiful setting with some lovely artisan crafts for sale. The selection is not vast and the prices are high. It closes earlier than other shops.

Hi, first of all I would like to thank you for taking the time to write your opinion about our Gallery and at the same time I would also like to apologize for not getting back to you earlier. I just wanted to let you know that we have closed our second location in Puerto Ayora in May 2016 and... More

They have beautiful things of very high quality though not everything is made in Ecuador. Also the articles ar a bit pricy, but really special and unique. Service is very friendly and they speak several languages. Absolute worth a vists and maybe a buy :-)

I passed this galerie several times without going in....because I knew what would happen if I succumbed. On the last day my husband dragged me in, I saw and felt the tapestries, and happily have one of the most beautiful pieces of handiwork I've ever seen/felt. Have purchased art handicrafts all over the world, but this is the first I've... More

This is the place you go for quality art from Galapagos and mainland artists. Beautiful tapestries, metal and wood statues, silver jewelry and many other items. Both low and high cost artwork. We bought a beautiful diorama of wildlife, tagua nut figurines and a scarf.

If you want a souvenir from your trip to the Galapagos that is different from the ubiquitous booby tee shirt or cheaper crafts, this is your store. Everything is classy and high quality. Perusing the wares is like visiting a museum - there are beautiful wall hangings, sculptures, hats, jewelry, retablos (elaborate boxes with carved figures) and more. The prices... More

Beautiful artwork from Ecuador. The sculptures, tapestries, masks are gorgeous! I wasn't expecting such fine quality. The prices at the Baltra airport shop were the same as in town which was a nice surprise.

Unique sculptures which disassemble for transport. The sales rep was attentive and knowledgeable. It was a pleasure to spend time in this cool air-conditioned gallery with many beautiful pieces of art.

We have become used to seeing 'art' galleries in our travels with mass produced items of poor quality. We were amazed and delighted to visit this gallery in Puerto Ayora. The art is fantastic from weavings, sculptures and jewellery. A must stop to treat yourself to unique treasures.
