I think this is probably the first sample of wildlife everyone gets when they arrive. There are sea lions, Boobies, Iguanas and pelicans everywhere.
The beach is nice and clean, quite small.
The walkway to the shops and restaurants is lovely too.
Its a good spot to watch the sun go down.

Was nice to just sit back and relax at the nearby cafe and watch the sea lions but you couldn't walk on the sand here so not really a beach area.
There was a local band playing nearby when I was there. Not sure how often this happens but well worth a stroll down to this general area.

It is not a beach we can enter the water, we can´t even walk on the sand. There is a fence for preventing sea lions to walk away but they do anyway. There are many bars and restaurants around this beach so we can eat and drink watching sea lions day and nigth.

Playa de Oro is right in the middle of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. Is is a beachy area...but more of a very good place to view the local Seal Lion Colony than a place for beach goers. It was an experience to see all of the pups playing together, the females sleeping, and to see the Bull charge any other males that came to shore. Watch out - they will come up on the side walk and make themselves at home in any comfy space. To watch them, you can hang along the fence or you can have a drink at the Golden Bay, Muyu restaurant which overlooks the beach. This is definitely and perfect spot to watch the sunset over the bay and the fishing boats.

If you want to watch the sea lions from land, that's a good spot and basically in town. However, if you'd like to get into the water or snorkel, make the (small) effort and get to another beach, as the closeness to town makes this a bad spot for bathing.

We loved sitting at the Muyu restaurant for a drink & dessert while watching the sea lions play on the beach. It is a non-stop show with the sea lions! Not ideal for swimming or sunbathing.

This is a small little beach right off the main road that parallels the port in San Cristobal. We went at the end of the day when the golden sun was shining and there were tons of sea lion pops nursing their mothers. You can’t get more than 3 meters from any wildlife in the Galapagos but you could take tons of photos. It’s easy to get to and the rewards are incredible.
