My partner, two of our friends (married couple) and I went on this TREMENDOUS one week cruise on the Ecoventura ship the Theory in mid-October 2021. BTW, our two couples are gay men and felt TOTALLY comfortable with the crew and other guests. There are only 10 cabins (20 guests max), and 13 crew, on this luxury, gourmet adventure cruise on the Centra/Southern itinerary. We were reluctant given Covid but they handled it flawlessly. EVERYONE on the crew is vaccinated and indeed EVERYONE in the islands is vaccinated ! Also, each of the guests had to be vaccinated AND had to have a negative PCR test within 3 days of departure. Once on the ship we were a bubble and most activities were outside. Each day there were interesting activities on land and in the water. The two guides (Billy and Ivan) were SOOO attentive and knowledgeable that they made things perfect even for tentative guests. They love what they do and where they live and they teach you to respect it and love it. They tried to have a low intensity and a higher intensity activity so as to accommodate older or limited guests. We saw so much wildlife, up CLOSE, I couldn't possibly list them all. I am a photography nut and have about 2000 images after only 7 days ! Snorkel enthusiasts will be in heaven. You literally swim with sea lions, sea turtles, penguins, millions of colorful fish etc. They also have a glass bottom boat for those that do not snorkel ! The food was DELUXE and delicious. Each of the 3 meals was gourmet, the drinks were free-flowing and surprise snacks were ubiquitous. We were on the Theory which is the identical sister ship to the Origin. Its a bit more expensive than their ship the Letty. but worth the cost. Although not cheap, the VALUE was totally worth it. The cabins were immaculate and we felt pampered. Think Ritz Carlton. Honestly. Its a true once in a lifetime trip that you should take. NOW !!

There were so many awesome experiences but my favorite activity was snorkeling. Every location we snorkeled in had something new and amazing to see. Our guides, Yvonne & Pepe, were amazing, it was clear that they knew so much and their passion was infectious. Our crew was top knotch and Scarlett, our consierge was so helpful that I wanted to bring her home!

We had been looking forward to our Galapagos trip for 2 years. We finally went in August 2021 and it was well worth the wait! The guides were impressive - knowledgeable, passionate about their jobs, and fun. The Origin yacht was beautiful and each crew member was helpful and kind. There isn't anything I would change. Every member of the Ecoventura team is great, our experience from booking, to travel and transfers, hiking, snorkeling, drinks, meals, etc., was perfect. I cannot speak highly enough about our experience and hope to be able to return to Ecuador and the Galapagos one day. I would book with Ecoventura again!

One of the worst experiences of our lives - absolute torture. Our room was so noisy from the generator and the engine (which runs overnight as the vessel sails from one island to the next) that it was impossible to sleep, resulting in 7 nights of sleep deprivation. The ambient noise from the engine is bad enough but it vibrates through the whole room and through the bed so even earplugs do not help. The closest thing I can liken it to is trying to sleep while having dental surgery. When we raised it with the crew there was nothing they could do. I asked the company for some compensation and they refused. There are other (smaller) annoyances also which would be fine at a lower cost but at this level really are not ok: the boat is already getting quite tired and doesnt look well maintained, the food looks fancy and photographs well but doesnt taste that good, there are not enough kayaks etc for everyone so its quite awkward with other guests, the buses which transit you around the place are really very rough, the final day is very bad as you hang around all day in town.

Dear Guest, We are very dissapointed to read your review. This is the first time a guest has mentioned not being able to sleep because of the engine noise. All smaller vessels are subject to some level of engine noise and vibration. All of the ten staterooms on our expedition yachts are soundproof. They are tested regularly and meet international standards. We do sympathize and understand some guests might be more auditory sensitive. It was a surprise you included other lesser "annoyances" that were not previously reported by you or anyone else on board this week. All of the other guests rated the Food & Beverage 9.7/10 and a favorable overall cruise experience score of 9.62/10. We deeply regret you did not have the same great experience as the other guests. With kind regards, Denise Quality Coordinator & Guest Relations Manager
