The guide Phillipe was excellent, and the food on board was terrific. The agent at Tip Top, Eliana, was terrific and helped us every step of the way! The boat staff was very attentive, courteous and fun. It was a great trip, with lots of wildlife and plenty of snorkeling -- turtles, rays and colorful fish, even a white-tipped shark or two! Keep in mind a couple of things in Ecuador-- The currency in Ecuador is USD so it is easy going if you are from the USA. Also, bring cash, not credit cards. The Banks here charge a 12% fee to merchants and not a lot of them take credit. There is a bit of climbing and a lot of walking, so take good shoes with you. The trip is highly recommended!

We took the 7 nights 8 days trip on Tip Top II (Rolf Wittmer) over the 1st week of Jan 2020. The experience has been magical. The crew was beyond outstanding, services were flawless and the naturalist was super organized & dedicated. Starting from the cleanliness of the boat, quality of food, professionalism of the crew, their effort to make our time memorable, the whole package lived up to beyond expectations. I'll highly recommend anyone for this trip. Worth every moment and every penny!!

We spent 8 days on the Tip Top IV over New Year's 2019 and highly recommend this company. We booked the tour through CNH Tours based in Canada, and they were extremely helpful in finding us the right cruise and managing all of our ground travel/guides. Marcos from Tip Top met our group of 16 at the Baltra airport. He was our naturalist guide for the entire trip and was wonderful. Incredibly well educated about geology, animals, history, culture... he'd answer every question we had with knowledge. He was also a lot of fun, and everyone from the teenagers to the grandma on the trip appreciated him. The ship was very comfortable. We had plenty of storage (although we packed little) and the bathrooms in each room had soap, shampoo, towels, and hairdryers. We were all provided stainless steel water bottles and foot towels. Each room has a safe, although we pretty much left our door open most of the time. It felt very safe--like a little family. We paid more for an upper cabin and loved the two large windows the cabin had. Food was plentiful and yummy and varied. Even our picky teenagers loved it. The chef was very capable of providing options for the vegetarians and our kid with allergies. Every time we returned from one activity or another, there'd be wonderful treats out for us. The entire staff was so nice and helpful. We all felt comfortable and totally spoiled and very safe at all times. We loved the activities--walking, kayaking, snorkeling, swimming, dinghy rides... The Galapagos actually lets visitors on the islands in a very limited timeframe, so we were sometimes on land for only 1-2 hours a day. But there was so much else do do on or in the water that we never felt bored. It is important to note that there is snorkeling every day. It's optional, but is a big part of the trip. (And totally amazing and glorious if you like the water--penguins, sea lions, fish everywhere, small sharks, rays, cormorants, octopus, swimming iguanas...) Even the most avid snorkelers/divers on our trip were just blown away by what we saw. Land excursions were just as glorious, and we saw so many birds and animals up close. This truly was the trip of a lifetime. Marcos did a great job of briefing us on what we saw each day and the plan for the following day. It was so well organized and efficient. The Tip Top IV has 3 very nice outdoor areas for hanging out. Some shaded, some not. We loved every minute of this trip and feel fortunate to have been with Marcos and on the Tip Top IV.

My wife and I just returned from an 11-day cruise on the Tip Top II, booked through Galapagos Travel. The trip was first-class all the way, with a few caveats travelers should be aware of. Galapagos Travel’s website is one of the best we’d encountered, with lots of detail about what to bring and expect. That said, the website is also misleading as the map and itinerary posted is for the Tip Top IV, while many of their trips use the Tip Top II which follows a DIFFERENT itinerary and does not stop at all the islands. We wish the agency website was more upfront about which tours followed which route. Galapagos Travel provides their own guides. Our guide was Daniel Fitter, perhaps best known for his top-reviewed book “Wildlife of the Galapagos”. Daniel was outstanding in his knowledge and willingness to share. He was accompanied by his cousin Joed in the role of naturalist, a never-ending fountain of information about the birds, animals, plants, marine life, and local cuisine. I have never encountered better guides. Both made sure we were always the first group onto the islands under the best light for photography and at the right times for seeing the wildlife in their active state. In contrast, many guides from other tours we saw seemed in a rush, spoke in broken English, and offered little information about what their groups were seeing. Our guides made the additional cost of booking with Galapagos Travel well worth it. Highly recommended!
