Our trip exceeded our expectations! We were apprehensive about cost/duration/our fellow travelers and other elements with which we were unfamiliar. Tip Top Travel had a totally professional, highly trained enthusiastic crew that made it all happen. We were lucky to have Eliana as our patient, informative, and expert agent.

Our boat (Koln) was around 100 ft, crew of 9 with small, but sufficient cabins and excellent relaxing spaces with a pleasant dining room, sundeck and a protected outdoor lounging area.

1. Quito airport. We arrived early and charming rep, Tony Sotomayor, found us right away. I liked that he knew everyone working around him at the airport. He whisked us through the paperwork and got us on our way in record time.
2. Pick up at Galapagos Airport on Baltra was easy and efficient. We were met by Fabrizio and the the Koln crew and they ensured luggage was boarded on the bus and we were on our way. The transfers were seamless.
3. We were impressed by the cleanliness and organization of the boat and crew. We loved the daily briefings and that the excursions were always informative and on time! 4. The meal service exceeded our expectations in quality, diversity and creativity. The snacks and drinks when returning from our outings were a nice touch and much appreciated by everyone.
5. The crew, and I do mean all, were amazing. You could tell they loved their work and were trained well. They took safety seriously and cared for the guests.
6. Our Naturalist, Fabrizio, escorted us on all excursions and is a wealth of knowledge that he is genuinely excited to share. His language skills are exceptional. His enthusiasm is contagious.
7. One of our concerns was that with 15 guests the chemistry might be stressful with no where to get away and 5 days in constant contact. The opposite was true. Aged 9 to 80, from Europe, South America, Middle East and the US, there was always someone new to chat with and learn about their lives and culture.
8. The excursions were generally easy, hikes were short and beautiful - filled with animals and birds. Snorkeling was a little challenging with water temp but we managed to see many sea turtles, sea lions and on the last day, sharks!

We spent 3 nights in Quito preceding the cruise, staying in Old Town, doing the Quito Bus Hop-on Hop off, and riding the tram on Telerferico to 13,000 feet elevation. Beautiful city! For us, the 5 day cruise was perfect.Although we've traveled all over the world, we have never chosen a cruise ship. We didn't think we would like having to stay on a particular schedule and not have any control over where/when/how we would sort out our time. As it turned out, it was a wonderful experience. We met some amazing people, both guests and crew.

We took the 7 nights 8 days trip on Tip Top II (Rolf Wittmer) over the 1st week of Jan 2020. The experience has been magical. The crew was beyond outstanding, services were flawless and the naturalist was super organized & dedicated. Starting from the cleanliness of the boat, quality of food, professionalism of the crew, their effort to make our time memorable, the whole package lived up to beyond expectations.

I'll highly recommend anyone for this trip. Worth every moment and every penny!!

I booked the Tip Top V and it was the trip of a lifetime! It was an action packed week of swimming with sea lions and sea turtles every day, seeing white tip reef sharks, bright red star fish, famous Blue footed boobies, manta rays, Galapagos penguins, marine iguanas, land iguanas, Darwin finches, and giant tortoises. The boat sleeps 16 guests but there were only 4 guests that booked, so we felt like spoiled cast-aways exploring the islands with our guide. The food was pretty good and they catered to my couple of allergies very well. The captain went above and beyond, turning off lights so we could watch bioluminescence and the galaxy one night, and the guide Felipe was very knowledgable, fun, and made everyone feel included. The boat is modern, spacious, and surpassed my expectations. The itinerary had the perfect amount of adventure and breaks. I can't wait to visit the Galapagos again and would definitely book with Rolf Wittmer cruises again.

About month or two from going to the trip we were told that the catamaran we booked on was allocated by the local government to do the tours for the locals. It sounded strange, but we agreed to change to another boat - not catamaran.

Our cabin had a tiny window vs what we booked at the catamaran. During the second week there was available room or two in the upper deck, with normal window.

When we asked they told us the charge is almost $400 p/p per week. In other words they downgraded us without returning the difference in price and didn’t want to upgrade us back!

Even when they had to move us to a different cabin due to horrible bathroom smell in ours they moved us to a room on a low deck.

This left a bad taste in our mouths and not only figuratively.

The trip itself was great and the crew is spectacular, but dishonest management practices are not something I would recommend to deal with. It’s really a shame that experiencing such a spectacular area of the world gets spoiled by shady people.

We did the 8 day itinerary on the Tip Top II and it was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in visiting g and learning about the magical Galapagos islands. Our guide, Carlos, was very knowledgeable, friendly, and fun to spend time with on and off the boat. The director, Gabriella, and all the staff on the boat were wonderful, professional, friendly, and we were so happy to get to know them over the week on the boat. The food was really great for all 3 meals each day plus special snacks and drinks. The excursions on land and in the water were the highlights - so many animals and plants to see, plus the unique geology. We want to go back again! It was well worth the price, really a great value for the priceless experience.

We had high expectations for our 5 day cruise in the Galapagos with Tip Top Cruises, and Tip Top met and exceeded those expectations! The boat was first class, clean, comfortable and even luxurious! The food was amazing, Tip Top accommodating both vegan and meat eaters, with a creative menu and first class chef. Our guide/naturalist was very knowlegeable, took us on amazing shore excursions and explained in detail the lives of the sea life and mammals we saw in the Galapagos. Best of all, our crew was professional and personable, led by an amazing cruise director. I highly recommend Tip Top Cruises for the Galapagos!

Just returned from a Galapagos Island trip aboard the Tip Top V the latest boat in the Tip Top Fleet.
Had a superb time on a Road Scholar tour with the Tip Top Crew who were first rate. Captain Washington and Cook Ronnie were great leaders and we enjoyed every minute.
We went to 7 or 8 Islands in a week and each one was different requiring either a wet or a dry landing. Personal favorites were Genovesa with amazing close encounters with multitudes of birds, Espanola with Albatross nesting and of course Santa Cruz to see the Giant Tortoise. Our naturalist on board was Pato Maldonato who was outstanding.
The boat itself was very comfortable and ideal for island hopping

Everything about the trip was tip top. We had two excellent guides Charles and Claudia (German-speaking). The crew was very attentive, always helping us on and off the boat/panga, and took excellent care of us while aboard. Our days were full of activities. I was on 2 separate 7-day cruises; east and west, so I was able to visit most of the islands. Usually 2 hikes (morning and afternoon), plus snorkeling. We also had opportunities over the cruise for kayaking and the panga cruise/safari. Our meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) were great. (Booking directly with Tip Top was preferred as it eliminates the hassles with the OTA)

I travelled around the Galapagos with Tip Top 5 and everything was amazing. Each day was different, with so many opportunities for seeing wildlife on land and in the ocean. The crew and guide were amazing; so helpful and knowledgeable. My cabin was great, with a balcony and food was amazing. I didn’t want to come home!
