Liked the fact that it was situated on 3 different floors. Many exhibits, one can find out in a few words about the history of Rijeka. If you got tired of reading there was a movie playing about the founding and founders of the city. There big ships and compasses exposed. A few different museum exhibits housed in the 19th century Governor's Palace. The building itself is beautiful (even though it needs a little TLC), the furniture and other period pieces are well preserved, there's some ceramics, glass, paintings, weapons and instruments displayed. There's also an archaeological exhibit with all sorts of finds displayed - stone tools, pots, coins, jewelry, you can even write and print out something in the Glagolitic script (glagoljica). I particularly loved the amphoras which are placed in a vertical display between the ground and the second floor. The top floor houses a maritime exhibit - model ships, some maritime equipment, paintings and such, and of course the Titanic life vest. For the entry price of 20 kunas (less than 3 euros) it's well worth the visit.…

This building was Gouverner palace and now become museum with nice rooms from history, great permanent exhibition and very exciting temporary exhibitions. Now is possible to see exhibition named "Rigojanči", about cake inspired by love of Gipsy violinist and princess- very nice and full of love!…

From the very friendly receptionist to the interesting (and varied!) exhibitions and the beautiful architecture this museum is well worth a visit! It displays one of only 5 remaining life jackets from the Titanic, and the only one on display in Europe. The official rooms on the first floor are beautifully decorated, and whilst most texts are in Croatian there are some that have been translated into German and/or English. It was lovely to stroll through the rooms and gain some insights into Rijeka's history.…
