This area Reijka, Volosko and Opatij is being in South France. The small and narrow streets, the small harbor with its fish restaurants and shops is fantastic. Volosko is the city that never upgraded to this century. This is the place where you come for...More
One our local friend recommended to have a stop in Ostaria Veranda in Volosko on our way to Zagreb.
By the way, Volosko is a very picturesque small port nearby Opatija.

This place has the unique combination of a beautiful turquoise sea, great baroque architecture and nature nearby. The people are from many different countries giving a pleasant atmosphere. And Prices are still reasonable.

Parking Near Opatija/Volosko for Short Stopover (3 Replies)
My wife and I will be traveling from Rijeka to Rovinj mid-May with a rental car, and I had seen some recommendations to stop in Volosko/Opatija to enjoy the Lungomare and take in a good lunch in Volosko. I am also interested in visiting Vinoteque Barolo in Opatija. My question is whether there is someplace easy to park our rental car while we walk along the Lungomare between the towns and take in the sights. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There is a car park by the harbour in Volosko and this is the beginning of the Lungomare. Have lunch on the waterside terrace at Le Mandrac, one of my favourite places to go for lunch or dinner. After lunch, walk along the Lungomare and go as far as you want. The great thing is you can leave the walk at any point and take the local number 32 bus back to Volosko.
Mainland or Island (6 Replies)
We have our holiday planned except for the last three nights. We are flying to Zadar next Wednesday, from there we are going to Rab island. When we leave rab by ferry we will arrive in Rijeka. We have three nights free before we fly home from Krk airport. Trying to decide where to stay, had a look at Volosko but may be too touristy around there. We like quiet places with nice bars and restaurants. Maybe there are other places not too far from Rijeka more suitable or maybe in Krk island...More

Yes, why not Krk. Krk city is nice to walk around and there are quite a few places to visit on the island.
Good place for dinner in Volosko on the water? (9 Replies)
We are spending one night staying at Apartments Komel on our way from Brac to Slovenia and we are looking forward to stretching our legs along the Lungo Mare and then catching drinks and dinner and enjoying our last night on the sea before heading to the mountains, can you recommend a good place? Any feedback on Apartments Komel? Thanks, Karen

I don't personally know this apartment but it is situated on side of a steep hill and looking over Kvarner Bay. You can walk down to the harbor through little alleys in a few minutes. There are a few good restaurants down near the water, my favourite for location and food is Le Mandrac, their terrace could not be closer to the sea.
