Yet another excellent Jersey Brewery. We finally made it here, I've been drinking Carton beers at bars for years but never visited the Brewery until today. We had a few of their offerings. The banana cream pie beer was delicious. I had to buy a four pack to go. Good job Carton.

Stopped in today to try the Blue Milk. Looks very cool and tastes great. We also love Light & Sweet. We come here often to try the new releases. Their coffee infused imperial ales are the best!

Very good beer. I only had one beer that i didn't care for. They have you take a tour around the brewery. The one floor is just merchandise and buying beer. The top floor is the tastings. I will definitely return.

Nice place...they have great beer and just wanted to check out the source. Friendly staff give you the tour, initially. Then you go upstairs and for $5 you get to taste 5 or 6 beers, I can't remember ;-) It's a good deal to taste their delicious selections. Very cozy upstairs tasting bar room. Looks like it was an old fire station, with brick walls. Very trendy.

Carton is a brewery and a good one at that. If you like quality crafted beer it is a must. Not to mention a 5 pour flight is only $5. Plus one on the house so technically 6 pours. Check it out and enjoy.

I am confused. I stopped here the other day, but thankfully, before I stopped at a local deli or sandwich shop, I asked if I could bring in food. I was told no because the state allows them to either allow food to be brought in OR allow pets, but not both. I was told they decided to allow pets. They suggested eating something first, then come back. At that point I left and did not return – I will not sit in a microbrewery tap room and not eat anything food WHILE drinking beer. This has not been an issue with other microbreweries I have gone to where food was permitted as well as dogs. In fact, several microbreweries I have gone to have had menus of local restaurants that deliver available and have allowed dogs. In fact, the New Jersey Craft Beer web site lists the microbreweries that allow pets and some of those microbreweries state on their web sites that they don’t serve food, but customers are welcome to bring in food. And in fact, the very next day I went to a different microbrewery that had menus of local restaurants and is listed on the NJCB web site as allowing pets. And I had food delivered to that microbrewery and a group sitting at a table near me brought their dog in. The person at Carton Brewing is apparently misinformed or misinformed me. That said, I will never come here again – lost business.

Carton Brewing has made one of my favorite New Jersey beers. It has been on the list for sometime we recently had the opportunity to go and visit. First by law you are required to take a brewery tour which was very interesting informative and engaging. In the tasting room you buy chips which allow you to taste several beers all of which were excellent. The experience was made by the staff were friendly and very knowledgeable making it and enjoyable experience.

The craft style breweries have been popping up all over the State. I’ve been traveling around a bit sampling many of the places. Carton has been around for a few years now. I’ve had their beer before but this was my first visit to the brewery. The beers were fine, especially the Milk Stout. On the opposite end of the spectrum the Lager was equally good, cool and refreshing on a hot day.

What is unique to Carton as opposed to other craft breweries that I’ve visited is the payment method. Usually you buy a sampler where you get four or five small pours for a set price. You get all four or five at once. At Carton you pay upfront, you get poker style chips that enable you to buy beer one at a time at your own pace. This way none of the beers get overly warm or stale. A rather novel way of conducting their business. In addition, at least the time I was there the bar tender offered a small tasting before actually ordering a beer. A nice touch when you’re not sure what to get.

I called in early on Friday evening and spent a delightful hour chatting with the staff and sampling their full range of beers.

This is a business on the up, as they have just built a much larger brewery next door, which will include an expanded taproom by the summer of 2018.

Great beers and good people!

This was the last stop for me and like the saying goes save the best for last! Carton has a great atmosphere, the beer is good, and everyone who works there is great! Highly recommend the ship wreck porter. By far my favorite!
