Nice little area on the water to get something to eat, drink or go on a boat ride. There are a couple of restaurants back here including Gilcrhist which has a great oudoor breakfast, Back Bay Ale house which has great food & drinks (also outdoors) and a cute outside bar for drinks which is convenient especially if you are going on the Atlantic City Cruise boat ride. All worth checking out this area! Easy free parking. The AC aquarium is back here also but not sure if its open yet due to the pandemic restrictions.

This used to be our favorite vacation trip while in Atlantic City. In years past there were little shops offering gifts and art works with great crafters. There were beautiful gardens maintained by the Rutgers Master Gardeners. We used to love to talk to John, one of the master gardeners there. But somehow there was a law that said it was land gifted to the City by the government and there couldn’t be commercial enterprise. So now the gardens are neglected, the shops are closed and even some of the restaurants are gone. There is still the Aquarium, the Back Bay Ale House And Gilchrist but except for the boats there is nothing else there. We really loved the little shops. I hope it is revitalized.
