It appeared to be closed for good when I was there 2 weeks ago. I walked down to see this and it was closed. It said that they were opening something else there soon. It seemed to be closed permanently.

Not sure if this is still open, but living only an hour away, A.C. is stll intriguing to me. The museum also has a great video about the city.

The Garden Pier opened in July 1913. The centerpiece was the B.F. Keith's Theatre, which for many years rivaled any of those on Broadway. One of the city's largest ballrooms was on the pier. The first Miss America pageant started on Garden Pier in 1921....More

Unfortunately we visited Atlantic City on the Sunday prior to the Memorial Day when the Museum was closed. But the view from the deck was amazing on a misty day. Though it's a shame that we missed out visiting the Museum.

This is a good place to start your visit to Atlantic City and learn that there was a lot more to this resort town before gambling was legalized.

There is no admission charge. I believe it is mostly funded by the Chamber of Commerce. I think there is a box where you can leave a donation, but they are very discrete about that. It is a wonderful musuem.
