This reopened in July after renovations following Hurricane Sandy. Right across from the Revel Casino. Anyone who vacationed in Atlantic City during their childhood would be delighted to go back down memory lane with these exhibits. Miss America, the celebrities, the piers, the boardwalk, the huge hotels. All are documented in well done displays. There is a 20 minute film that goes back to the founding of Atlantic City, and details it's history to recent years. Admission is free, but you will want to drop a couple bucks in the canister because this is a labor of love for the organizers.

Not a big casino person so this was absolutely perfect. Walked in and was greeted by staff who where knowledgeable and friendly. Watched a short video that was a great recap of the history of Atlantic City. Then walked around all of the exhibits which was like walking down memory lane. Everything from Miss America to Mr. Peanut. If your in Atlantic City you really should stop by this gem.

As a lover of history, I was very pleased with the collection of fun and interesting articles. Learned so much and was given a whole new perspective of the Atlantic City past. A must visit place.

I've been to Atlantic City 3 times now. The first time 5 years ago this place was closed when I wanted to go to it. It hadn't opened for the season yet. The very next year I wanted to go see it but it was being remodeled and was again closed. It is a nice new looking building and it has been taken over by the city library. Admission is free and there are lots of historical photos and artifacts from early Atlantic City. There is no gift shop and it is at the far north end of the Boardwalk past the closed Revere casino out on Garden Pier, but if you are at that end of the Boardwalk looking for a break from the slots, it's a nice quiet place to relax and relive a little history.

We were wandering down the boardwalk and came upon this gem at the far end of the boardwalk across from the closed casinos, Showboat and Revel. A short film describes the history of Atlantic City. Then walk through the display area which has many artifacts of Atlantic City through the years. The museum is free. There was a nice man working the reception desk who was full of information about Atlantic City today. I hope this treasure continues to exist in spite of all the hotel closings.

Worth a stroll to the very north end of the boardwalk, cool memorabilia on exhibit, and a short documentary film about the history of this wonderful city and how it shaped the Jersey Shore as THE recreation destination beginning in the late 18th century. Free admission.

This is free and it is done very well. A very good film which recaps much of the display. Well lit , a trip down memory lane or just good info about lots of firsts in AC.

The history of what once was in AC it's the furthest thing north on the boardwalk across from the closed Showboat and Revel, it's really interesting, a real find. I guess they will soon have to add the history of all the closed casinos.
