Great way to spend a Saturday.
It was a lovely trip. I walked the Boardwalk and hit the 99 cent store. Chock full of bargains. Also went to the Resorts Casino. Gambled a little. Their VIP Room is awesome. Wonderful buffet.

    Must-See Historical Attraction
This is a must-see attraction when visiting Atlantic City due to its history and novelty. However, the beach is the main draw for most visitors. The shops on the boardwalk are mostly food and souvenir stands, with nothing particularly spectacular. It’s a great place to exercise, but be aware that scammers and drug addicts tend to appear in the afternoon.

The Atlantic City boardwalk can present a variety of things to do for both young and old. Various hotels line the board walk, but if you are just there for the day parking is close by in one of the paid lots. Shops line the board walk with practically anything that you can imagine from food, clothing, and of course a wide variety of souveniers. One can rent jet skiis or even take a Helicopter tour ($$$) of the beach front. A Carnival time gaming platform sits directly adjacent to the beach with a few rides for the smaller children. The beach was a little crowded as one might expect during the summer months, but I was able to capture surfers catching a wave during my visit.

Impressive world class boardwalk on the ocean
A beautiful place for a stroll. Bike rentals are available 6am to 12 noon. There are lots of shops and restaurants on the boardwalk, as well as direct access to casinos and the beach too. Must visit the boardwalk if you’re in the area!

What a bargain at Atlantic City Boardwalk.
We found side street parking so close to the beach and we only had 3 hours to enjoy. Parking was $3 at the meter and then we walked to the boardwalk to search for a quick bite to eat. We found a "Cubano sandwich" that me & wife split. As we walked to the beach where Tropicana had an area cordoned off for fireworks, we were surprised to see so many people on the beach waiting for the sun to go down to see the fireworks show. Anyway, we played a bit in the waves and left to check in to our hotel room at Hard Rock Casino & Hotel. For $3 we had time to park, find a sandwich and visit the beach. Whaaat a bargain!!!

    Overall Great Time
We overall had a great trip. The boardwalk itself is well policed and we all felt safe. I normally travel solo, but this time has 3 friends with me who have never been, they had a great time. I just wish something could be done about the pan handling on the boardwalk

AC is always a great time
Fun times in AC. The Lucky snake arcade is great now and the boardwalk is always fun. The AC bar and grill is a great place to eat. Ride the bikes during the morning the whole length of the boardwalk. It’s always a good time in AC.

    Creepy at Night
I recently went to Atlantic City for a few days. I posted a review of the boardwalk some years ago. I have to admit that it hasn't really changed much. I did have a wonderful time at Resorts and the various hotels I visited plus the Tanger Outlets have always been a favorite of mine. I knew going to A.C. that it was after the "season" had ended and that it would affect the place in various ways but I'm still bothered that the boardwalk is "creepy" at night. I went to the Tropicana for dinner at PF Changs and figured I'd stay and gamble a bit and then make the trek back to Resorts which is a pretty long walk. The boardwalk was desolate on the way and I decided to come back to the hotel right after a great dinner. Even at 8pm, there was no one in sight! Not a security guard, no policeman, no people in a golf cart patrolling. Kinda scary. I walked so darn fast!! I just don't understand why there isn't any security in the early evening....even off season. So, my advice to you after the season is that you chose a nice hotel with great amenities and great restaurants so that you can "stay close to home" at night. I did have a wonderful time there though.

Boardwalk is very outdated with old stores many of which still don’t have air conditioners. Everything, what is further down the Tropicana, looks abandoned. Too many certain kind of people hanging around. Sometimes it’s scary to walk after the dusk. The boardwalk tram service ends up at 9pm. You will be lucky if you catch the last one after 9pm. With people paying $10 for a day rides and who plan to go to a night concerts could be a dilemma how to return back to the hotel if your hotel is far enough to walk.

Love the Atlantic City boardwalk! Starting at Ocean Casino and wrapping up at Tropicana, it's a fun experience. It's gonna improve when the water park is finished at Showboat. There are a lot of neat little shops along the way where you can find cheap Atlantic City hoodies, hats and shirts. I recommend walking prior to sunset!

One of the greatest places in the world to people watch, in my opinion. Plenty of characters, multiple places to eat, carnival games, rides, helicopter rides, go-carts, and yes casinos. You can walk into any casino and enjoy a world-class meal, ice cream, subs, shopping, and more. The HardRock has a ton of memorabilia you can spend hours looking at and reading about. You don't have to gamble to have a good time. If you are intimidated by gambling but want to try it, all the casinos have a courtesy desk that can give you the basics. To play a slot machine you don't need any skill, just a few bucks to have some fun. You may win, but chances are you won't, but the cost of the entertainment of playing is worth it. There are some homeless people that will ask you to help them out, either give them some money as it will make you feel good or just say "sorry" and they will walk away; they are professional. There is the smell of marijuana in the air and if that offends you, this is not the place for you to be. The beach is spectacular. The boardwalk is a place where people come to let their hair down and have a good time. You can ride on the trolley which has a set price or one of the pushcart guys will take you where you need to go for about $10. Relax and have a good time.

We are staying further south and visited for the afternoon. Everyone should visit once (for 1/2 day) but stay in Ocean City or points South. It's an easy drive (less than 30 miles from Sea Isle City), parking was $10, and we enjoyed walking around the boardwalk, walking along the beach, and taking the little tram that costs $4. There are beautiful places to stay in Ocean City, Sea Isle City, Avalon, and Stone Harbor. Cape May is a must too. If time is limited, skip AC, it is seedy and run down. Parking tip- go to "Resorts" at the far (North) end of AC. There is a surface lot (safe) 1/2 block from the boardwalk $10. You pay inside the Rodeway Inn at the front desk.

I was in Atlantic City the week after the 4th of July staying at a nearby hotel and for that time of year, I expected to see an energetic, vibrant and welcoming scene. I walked between the far East end to Florida Avenue multiple times and different times of the day and found nothing inviting or welcoming about it.

If you sit on a bench, you are either surrounded by squawking seagulls or approached by the countless homeless people asking for something. When you walk the Boardwalk, you are constantly absorbing the stench of Marijuana smoke. Yes, it is legal but I still don't want to inhale somebody's exhaust.

The storefronts are not appealing (two of them were boarded up due to a fire) and the restaurant selection was very minimal. I settled for one near the Steel Pier because it had a decent view and the menu looked decent.

At night I walked to the Steel Pier and it is nothing more than a few rides and carnival games and had no cool vibe or energy to it.

Overall, I thought the "World Famous" Boardwalk was trashy and nothing that I would recommend to anybody or visit again.

We visited AC back in the mid 1990's when it had just had a major renovation. We were shocked how run down the Boardwalk is now. There was homeless people everywhere begging and presuring us for money. A friend had a stack of ones for the strippers and we gave them all away just to get the derelicks to leave us alone.

I thought I’d never say this in my life but stay away. The Boardwalk has become a piss and pot smelling wretch and bothersome people. Forget the casinos, they look good from inside, but outside just huge boxes that stand to lure you in. The piers are rundown and lack any real excitement, and if you happen to visit, be prepared to spend ALOT of money to ride rides! The old ocean one is now empty and has practically no stores left, and you can’t go out on the promenade and see the cram anymore. Never mind the smells, the smell of pot and piss will turn your stomach so bad, you can’t eat. Parking is always a joke, the cost and is outrageous. This is not a resort town for families anymore, just the gamblers, the ones who like to start trouble and drunken high consumers. Poor city needs an enema

Nothing Great about it. I wanted to see it while passing through AC. This whole area needs cleaning up. It’s just a trashy area. We parked at Hard Rock to have a safe place for us and our car. The boardwalk is a place I’ll never go back to. Some restaurants you can enter via the boardwalk, the carnival area wasn’t too bad. Lots of rude people who will knock you over in a heartbeat. Lots of weed smells in the air. Overall we spent about 10-15 mins walking along & checking out the carnival area. It was more than enough. It’s just dirty and smells like sewage in many areas.

After reading reviews I was worried about the Boardwalk being dumpy and overrun by homeless people. This is not what we found. Yes there were some people who asked for money but a strong NO and kept walking was all it took. We were not harassed at all. The first couple of days it was pretty quiet because I believe it was just too hot for people to be out and about. Once the heat wave broke it was pretty darn crowded. However MOST people outdoors were either wearing their masks, had them just under their nose or at least used them when they should have. Inside casinos everyone is required to wear masks and 99% did. For those that tried to get away with it they were told to pull it up or they would need to leave. Oh, for the beach it pretty much looked like people practiced social distancing.
Really the only big hassle with visiting right now is no dining inside. This creates quite the challenge for eating. Long waits for food, long waits for outdoor seating, and of course the food here is expensive anyway. So overall not perfect, but not horrible and still a nice get away.

First time in Atlantic City and not impressed. The boardwalk was a tourist trap; filled with stores you'd see at a flea market and over-priced mediocre food. So many trash people; homeless people, drug users, and rude people. Let alone the fact that everywhere you go it smells like marijuana.
