Worth the trip if the weather's good

Cool beach only accessible by boat from El Rodadero (10 000 COP/US$3). Don't expect it to be quiet just because it's hard to get to though, it's still a very popular beach.

The beach itself is quite nice. We wanted to stay for an hour or so, but the plastic chairs were 30,000 COP each! If you compare it to e.g. Playa Grande near Taganga (3,000 COP for the whole day), it's a clear rip off

If you like the beach and don't mind a boat trip this is another beach to enjoy a short boat ride out of Rodadero. Don' t expect to escape the crowds though as this place is probably more crowded than the main resort and you are a captive audience for the vendors who know your only way out is to... More

Well this is like having a private beach. You can only access it by boat so you will not fighting the locals for a spot at the beach. A couple of things: you can only access the beach by boat, it is a 15 minute ride and I think it was very fun but I know there are people that... More

It is like having a private beach..it can only be reached by boat. Once you are there, you will be escorted by a tourguide to your tent/cabana. Lunch may be included depending on the excursion package. Lunch is usually fried fish, coconut rice & fried plantains. The beach is clean and the water is clear. Snorkling is also an option... More

Playa blanca was lovely or had potential. We did a day tour and it was not what we wanted at all. We wanted a beach day before we left the guy showed us the beach and chairs said it was all included. Well have the day was driving around on a boat and we went to an aquarium thing which... More

Seen a lot of negative reviews about playa blanca, the majority of which I feel are unfair. Very easy to get to the beach - taxi from Santa Marta to El Rodadero (10,000pesos) then a boat from El Rodadero to Playa Blanca (12,000pp return). Friendly staff at the beach in El Rodadero guided us to the correct boat with no... More

this beach sees loads of vacationing Colombian families. rent a shelter to avoid the sun. they even come with chairs. the water is clear blue, and quite calm. vendors ply the sands selling anything you may or may not need. get a boat from playa rodadero.
