Nice beach, but not even close of Tayrona's

This is not a pretty beach at all. If you want to stay in the shade, you can sit up straight in tents; there are no beds. The boulevard is a bit nicer than Santa Marta's, but there isn't anything to see. Tried to walk here from Santa Marta, that is not possible because there is a military Base on... More

We ended up here after the trip to Rosario Islands got cancelled due to weather conditions. It included a lunch that was very basic and not very nice. The beach is very narrow and most of it is taken up by beach tents and umbrellas that you can hire. A LOT of people. Probably one of the least favourite moments... More

Such a crowded place, full of people selling food and random stuff. Kids playing soccer, families shouting, not the ideal scenario of holiday if you are looking for a beautiful quiet beach. Ps.: the watertaxi (yellow) is a rip off. They sell it announcing that it goes from the pier every 30 minutes and it's a lie, it's more like... More

Not sure if January 3rd was the reason but I would never go back to this place. OMG this place was so packed tons and tons of people trying to leave the beech on the small boats. The water was not blue at all. I would never go back there. My local beech is much nicer. Sorry but I would... More

I think the beach is beautiful but it's hard to tell with all the people! And the smell of diesel from the wave runners is awful. Maybe a Tuesday in June but not a Sunday in January! But we were here....

Snorkling area is a must. We had a tour (scuba divers professionals) with the kids and we saw lots of fishes, corales, the sand is unique and the water clear blue. The boat was huge and safe. Short distance from Santa Marta.

We came by boat which was a good trip. This is so popular that the beach is completely crowded. But if you swim out a bit the water is very clean. Getting back on a boat was chaotic as the crowds surge forward

Could be overcrowded during weekends, and hawkers can get invasive and intense. However, if you're staying in Taganga, this beach is worth a relaxing and chilling afternoon from your itinerary, but does not offer any special nature wonders more than a white sand beach and the characteristic beauty of caribbean sunset.

A few tips: - Do not book sleeping arrangements ahead of time. Wait until you get there, and walk along the beach to see your options. Some places are crap and right next to the throngs of tourists. Keep walking until you see something you like. - Do not pay ahead of time for ANYTHING. Agree on a price before... More

This scenic beach is somehow away from massive tourism. To get there I got a public bus from Santa Marta downtown to Taganga, then hiking through a short hilly trail (like 20 min walk) to finally arrive to Playa Blanca. There are several rustic restaurants along the beach that also offer chair service to spend the day relaxing on the... More
