Avoid avoid avoid. Unless you want to ease through piles of people while you are bearded like dying cows from the boat launch to the lockers (which double as a restaurant - yes you read right you Litterally sit to change Ans share a table err bench with somebody trying to eat) this place is a dirty unkept mess. Only saving grace os the gosh are pretty if you spend the money for shoes ans snorkel you can see many fish while you litterally bump shoulder to shoulder with 2,000 other people trying to see the same thing.
When you get tired of all the mess you have a choice. You can stand on the beach in the sun (yes stand no room to lay down) or you can buy an over priced meal Ans either eat standing or while others change clothing. Or you can attempt date And swim to the nearby island - not advisable unless you use the rope There are other lockers literally in the water Ans rusting. Ans if your careful you won't be hit by a boat as they drop ever more people off on this over crowded sand bar.

This was my worst ever turístic experience. It's a beautiful little island with good snorkling. However the day we went was utter bedlam. The waves were dangerously high, no dock, ships crashing against the shore, each other and the ocasional unlucky tourist. Unsuprising because it was so packed there was nowhere to even stand without getting crashed with waves and dragged back into the sea, let alone sit.

The Police arrived at 11 and sent everyone home. This took several hours for us because our boat had ditched our party of 12, which included 2x babies and my 75 year old arthritic suegra, all of who were terrified. Just a complete effing nightmare, and to top it all everyone manning the island was rude, unpleasant and didn't give one single F.

Great place. Clear water (it has 7 colors and cristal clear). Perfect for snorkeling (buy a good one, if you already don’t have yours). You can spend 5 to 6 hours easily in the two islands. We did swim with sharks (small), streak mantas and several fish of all colors. Amazing.
Down side: 1) take some sneaks with you to spend the day; and 2) the people (bit crowed when we went).
Price of the ride $ and food in the island $$$$ (it’s not good - awful cost vs benefits)

The place is amazing!! Sweet surprise! The water is clean and warm and we saw a lot of fishes. Although it was Monday, it was a little crowded. AVOID the restaurant Nelly s place when you are there. They are rude, impolite and took some money from us. There was a tall waiter that created confusion with a lot of people!

San Andrés is a Colombian island in the Caribbean Sea, off the coast of Nicaragua. It is known for coral reefs and reggae music.

The last 3 years I went on January 1th month with my family and this year I went on January 3th to January 8th with all my family we were like 20 people.

I stayed in a hotel called, San Luis Village, near to a famous restaurant called Francesca. The sea is very beautiful, for example one day we stayed in the hotel, the next day we went to de aquarium, open sea, swimming, diving, and in the night we went shopping and eat at the center. The next day we went around the island, and we get down in the places we want. There are more activities that can be done for example swimming with fishes, going to the natural pool, diving up to 50 meters, and if you go with friends you can go one day on a yacht in the open sea and find a floating bar called Ibiza to have a very cool party on your yacht.

I like San Andres beaucse of all the activities that we can do, because I have already done them all, because of the sea, restaurants, and the people.

This place is great. But again, like Johnny Cay lacks the pier, the safe dock. Boats are constantly hitting each other while unloading passengers at the beach.
The people, those who service at this site are mostly rude and aggressive. They have no manners with the tourists...very rude attitude. What a shame. Someone must retrained them. Let them know that tourists bring money to their pockets, thus, they can provide their love ones with food, and comfort.
The place is beautiful. The people attending to it lack good manners and civility with the visitors.
Maybe nobody cares anymore in San Andres about this situation.
What a sin...

A boat trip away from the coast. A small sandy reef for snorkeling and swimming. The weather was not good when we went so we missed the best parts of this trip. It was very crowded with tourists, sometimes you could hardly find a place to sit. The waves were a bit high so snorkeling was a challenge. The fish were not that great either, you could see more colors and different fish when snorkeling from the Sand Andres beaches. Overrated I would say.

Over crowded doesnt even describe the chaos that ensues on this tiny island... no doubt it is a beautiful place but it is totally ruined by the hundreds of people all at once on this small strip of beach... i would NEVER go back unless it was on a private boat during a time when no one else was there ... besides that its a horrific tourist trap
