I approached finca Don Manolo as I'm writing my thesis report about the impacts of tourism on the local livelihood in the Eje Cafetero, Colombia. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, I cannot travel to Colombia, so I have to do the interviews virtually. This was no problem for Hector and Manuel, who were very excited to participate in the research. They really took the time to answer all my questions and to share the beautiful history of the finca and their coffee with me. Although my experience with Don Manolo is different from the other reviews on this website (as I did not visit the finca itself), I could feel their positivity, hospitality and their willingness to help me through the screen. Again, thank you so much for your help! If travelling is allowed again, I will definitely visit Finca Don Manolo to get the real experience!

Even if we arrived there 2 hours after the tour started (Google tells you the wrong time, it starts at 14 and not at 15, plus there was a lot of traffic on the road...), we were able to join the last part of the English tour that had 3 people in it. Then, we tasted really good coffee (and bought some, of course!) and they were so nice that when the other 3 people left they actually offered us to complete the guided tour and to talk us through all the steps we missed by being late! Thank you so much!

Our hotel, El Lugar, recommended Finca (Farm) Don Manolo as a true local coffee farm for us to visit. Our tour guide was a young lady named Lina who was so welcoming, friendly, informative, patient and passionate about her trade. We spent over three hours on site and learned about coffee trees, beans, roasting process, types of brewing, the business side of commodity pricing, etc. Being that this is a small operation, we met the family as they worked their trade. Highly recommend a visit to this gem of a true coffee farm. Thanks again Lina for the wonderful tour, and the interesting experience!

Traveling in motorcycle with my wife we stopped at a beautiful family farm to enjoy a good coffee. @DonManolo is an excellent family entrepreneurship that without secrets, share the experience of producing and tasting the best Colombian product. They there attend with love, with professionalism, committed to our land. The attention of Don Manolo, Esperanza, Manuel, Pamela, Sammy, Lina, Héctor made us feel at home. Definitely we will return there every time we pass through Risaralda.

This is a sma version of a typical coffee farm in the region. It is surrounded by several coffee trees. The tour shows briefly the basics of coffee process and the evaluation of its quality. If you are planning to learn the ABC of the coffee business this is a nice place to do it
