We've travelled a fair amount but had never used a tour company to arrange our activities. We gave Expeditions Colombia a rough itinerary and a few criteria about our 4 person group. They proposed an itinerary, transportation, places to stay, activities, guides, etc. We hit a home run. English speaking guides were exceptional providing us with insights and experiences we could have never experienced on our own. Transportation was provided for the situation, everything from luxury vans to 4WD vehicles and public transportation with our guides. We visited Medellin, Jardin, Fredonia, Bogota, Villa de Leyva, Santa Marta, Minca, Cartegena, places in between and had a unique experience in a Kogi village. We did a river trip on the Samana, did birdwatching hikes, hiked Igaque, had an exceptional night at a Hacienda/coffee/cacao farm, partied with locals on Xmas eve, ate wonderful foods, etc. I could go on. If we had any issues Expeditions Colombia dealt with them quickly to our complete satisfaction. I don't think our age group, 66 to 75, fit their normal demographic but they handled it with sensitivity and professionalism. As hoped for we were happily exhausted at the end of the tour. We definitely recommend Expeditions Colombia to any traveler seeking unique experiences and exceptional guides who made all the difference.

Very exciting adventure! I felt very safe and confident with our guide, Mael. He navigated the rapids with style and grace.
It helps to have some experience paddling. The guide can only steer, guests must provide the power, and the river is strong.
Due to the wild nature of the river, it is a minimalist trip - two dry bags and one food box for everybody, so pack light. The food was great, especially the meal wrapped in banana leaf.
The hammocks were comfortable, although I would prefer hammocks with bug nets. However, bugs were not bad at night. They were worse during the day. Bring lightweight longsleeves and pants.
The trip felt like a true expedition adventure and was an ideal way to see the beautiful Colomboan jungle. I will recommend it to my adventurous friends.

My husband and I did the 3 day jungle trek with Diana and it was absolutely wonderful! Diana was such an amazing guide who knows the area very well and has such a great respect for the people who live there. The sites you get to see cannot be beat. You stop at awesome places to swim with rarely any other people there. The trek is difficult, so be sure to be prepared. The last day especially is very tough. Be sure to bring waterproof boots as there is a lot of mud and river crossings. Good rain gear is important as well.
Another great part is getting to try with local farming families. They are so hard working and gracious to let the hikers stay with them. They cook food fresh off their farm and it is the best we had in the country. It's nice to see how they live and be a part of that for a few nights.
We highly recommend if you're ready for an adventure!

Can’t rave enough about the services provided by Expedition Colombia for our 11 day trip to Colombia. I worked with Benjamin who was absolutely fabulous in arranging hotels, airport transfers and outstanding activities with excellent guides (Nicolas Mejia and Esteban for Comuna 13 are simply outstanding!). We were amazed and delighted with the quality & length of every tour and activity. Note: we did not do outdoor adventure things but stayed in Bogota and Medellin with a one night visit to a coffee finca.
If you want an extraordinary time in Colombia with local people who love their country and are passionate about sharing it with others, this is the go to company.

Me and a friend kayaked for 6 days with Expedition Colombia. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and shared as many tips with us as we could handle. They made safe decisions and gave us the historical background of the areas we traveled through. Excellent experience!

I can't rate the team of guides, the other people on the trip, the expedition or Colombia itself highly enough. This was very demanding (though not very technical) hiking, combined with rafting which ranged from easy to more challenging.
The logistics were mind-boggling to me, but we were fed amazing and varied food every day, we kept dry (at night, anyway!), and the links the EC team have with the local community means that we contributed positively to the local economy.
The guides were experts, and all had a great sense of humour, which kept me going when my motivation levels dipped.
The only word of caution : the trekking is hard, and you need to be physically fit and have some decent trekking experience, or you will both struggle, and hold back others.
Thanks again to Jules, Mael, Deana, Allejandro and Jonathan--it was a magical experience.

Mael and Johnathon provided us with an experience of a lifetime - we slept in a hammock and did lots of rafting, as promised, but also had the opportunity to cliff-jump, swim through rapids, swim under waterfalls and have our guides share their knowledge about the area (and demonstrate some excellent handyman and camp cooking skills). I was not sure what to expect, but going on this tour was a great decision.

We had an incredible fantastic experience with expedition colombia. First day we had amazing coffee farm tour, with Marcos. On Fredonia Coffe farm we got pampering hospitality from staff, leaded by Felippe and it was a setting up for next day- Rio Verde rafting. Although we came in the middle of rain season, we had also almost a good weather and mainly we had a lot of water. Jonathan and Maël were the perfect guides and they provided us a perfecr guidance throught a white water. We had a bath in middle of waterfall, ate a lunch in middle of jungle and even it was only 2 hours from the Medellin, we felt like a explorers of jungle. Great.
