Serious omission by TripAdvisor. I count on TripAdvisor, and they seldom let me down. This is a rainy climate, and it is essential that TripAdvisor offer practical alternatives for inclement weather.

Interesting place. The grounds and the building are very nice and its pretty cool to see a castle in the middle of such a big city. Pretty inexpensive also. Worth a trip for some pictures.

El Castillo (the castle), located in the outer skirts of El Poblado, is the former home of a very prominent Medellin businessman, whose family was touched by tragedy (I won't spoil the story). The house itself has very beautiful furnishings and art works, but, in...More

This attraction is short but interesting, this is a real castle built in Medellin in he 1930's, the original owners built it after visiting the most famous castles in Europe, and they tried to build it as original as possible based on their experience. It...More

It was built back in the 1930's by a rich German family who settled in Medellin. They offer a grand tour through the castle every hour or two. It was amazing to see how this family actually lived so richly and elegantly back then. All...More

Make sure to take the tour. (It's in Spanish). It's interesting to learn about the family and the items in the castle. The guide was OK, not like the other enthusiastic, fun and friendly guides we had on Turibus and Tours Guatape. They offer picnics:...More

You don't expect to see a European like small castle in the middle of a Southamerican city like Medellin. It has beautiful gardens and the house itself is nice to visit. I like to see old, classic furniture, paintings, and so on, which reminded me...More

This castle, the only in Medellín, is beautiful. It is useful for taking nice pictures from the garden. The entrance fee is 10000 COP so you might as well stay for the tour while you're at it. It's absolutely gorgeous inside, but the history or...More

You are writing to the wrong person. I never wrote such a comment in my review- "egregious proofs of old money in the hands of those who never had to work for" . I do not hold such views either.
