About
I´m gonna pick you up in the hotel you are staying , and go to Galeria Hostel in Guatapé lake to take instructions in how to use Stand Up Paddle board gear. Then we go to the water and we will be paddling in the back side of the Rock; then we´re gonna have a lunch with local food 100 m from the Hostel. Then we are going to La Piedra del Penol, and the colorful town of Guatape. Also, we can go just to paddle at La Fe lake, is only 35 min from Medellin, is a very relaxing place full of nature and quiet place to chill.

He did an awesome job. We were first time paddleboarders. He instructed us and we paddled 5 kilometers on the lake. We climbed to the top of the rock, and then enjoyed the afternoon walking around Quatape. He provided transportation to and from our hotel in Medellin. A great (long) day. Great fun, great food (including the best cinnamon rolls) and great company!

First of all, a word about the host. David is an incredibly kind and enthusiastic ambassador for Colombian hospitality -- so generous with his knowledge. (If you don't speak Spanish David speaks great English.)

As for the trip itself -- AMAZING experience. I have paddle boarded in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Australia, and the Dominican Republic... but the scenery in Guatapé (about two hours outside of Medellin) was the most impressive.
The famous "El Peñol" or "La Piedra" is the second largest rock formation of its kind in the world (the first is the "Pao de Azucar" in Brazil). Paddle boarding in the midst of this extraordinary natural monument was unforgettable. And on the back-end of the trip we encountered a pack of Chihuahuas who live in a farmhouse by the lake and love to climb on the boards. Lots of nice little moments like this throughout.

Aside from the SUPB, what made this truly extraordinary was the opportunity afterward to climb the actual rock. Once you make it to the top, you are rewarded by a fantastic view from above. They also offer plenty of food and drink up there.

To close the day, David takes you on a tour of picturesque and colorful Guatapé village, which was a delightful way to end the experience. The place is full of artisanal shops and traditional foods and traditional music.

I have since set up some friends on the same tour. I believe David can accommodate groups of up to five but best to confirm with him. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

I've paddle boarded all around the world, but this paddle boarding trip with David was OUT OF THE WORLD AMAZING! It takes someone special to make an experience all the more worth it. David was with us from 8am to well after 8pm. We paddle boarded in the lake behind La Peidra del Penon for a few hours, we went for lunch after, then we hiked up La Peidra del Penon - 675 steps, and last we walked around the beautiful town of Guatape - grabbed coffee, hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls! Which are all included in his price. In addition, David has a great sense of humor and genuinely caring!!!! If you're an adventurer - this trip is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This was a great experience and alternative for a one day trip to the "Oriente" . David is a great host and very knowledgeable person on the Paddle Board subject. Equipment is in the best condition. You can't go wrong with this choice.

I recommend this activity in Medellín, there are two very nice places to paddling board and it is very simple, you can learn in a day and practice whenever you want :)

Awesome experience at an amazing place! If you are looking for a great day trip away from Medellin then you have come to the right place. Trip is way more hands on and personal than most commercialized tours. Unlike most, you get to see "la Piedra" up close on the water.

David was a great guide. He was full of insight and most of all cared about us having a great time, not just about taking our money.

I would highly recommend.

Living in Miami, I've had the chance to go stand up paddle boarding several times but this had to be one of the best SUP experiences I've had. The lake is gorgeous as is the amazing rock and adorable town of Guatape. The instructor was very knowledgeable, the equipment was new and clean. My family loved the adventure! I highly recommend this SUP Tour, you won't be dissapointed.

It was an incredible day 100% recommended, es la mejor para hacer en Guatape. The best part you do not need to be a super athlete to enjoy it

My husband and I traveled from Australia to Guatape on this tour and it was unbelievable, the view from the top of the rock was amazing as was the sup experience on this magnificent lake. This is one of the most gorgeous towns I have seen.
