12 adults traveled to Cartagena at the end of June 2022. I worked with Edgar on our sightseeing tours. We booked a city tour of Cartagena, a canoe trip through the mangroves with lunch and also airport to hotel to airport private transportation. I have been in the travel business for 39 years and know what to look for and I must admit, Edgar was excellent! None of us had a complaint. Edgar is extremely entertaining and makes the tours enjoyable. I highly recommend the canoe trip through the Mangroves. It is interesting and something one does not do on a typical trip. The fish served at lunch was extremely fresh.
Highly recommend Carmen's restaurant in the old town.

We had a great time on this tour! Our guide was Elise who was extremely friendly and taught us so much about the history of the city, her enthusiasm was infectious! It is a walking tour that lasts about two hours, I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

We took this tour coming from a cruise ship. We were able to find the old city but did have difficulty finding the meeting place (navigation by phone was not reliable as there are Caribe jewelry stores as well as the naval museum). However, once we started the tour, it was well worth the effort. Our guide was enthusiastic about his city, culture, and history. It was a pleasure to see and hear about the notable sights we covered in the tour. Our guide also asked questions to make sure we understood or were following along. He also managed to remember most of the group's names, which is quite a feat for the 15-20 people who were with us. I highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting the Cartagena as a lovely introduction to this beautiful historical site.

Solid company. We did the free walking tour with roy and it was good. Very enjoyable. But then we needed a different time for a tour. We whatsapp the company at 8:30 am and ask for a private paid tour around 10am. and it was confirmed in 15 minutes. Edguardo was guide and was excellent for a 1:45 tour of Getsemani. So personal and gracious. We enjoyed the response of this company and would use them again. The 2 hour tour was 200,000 peso or about $40 US. A great value for the experience.

I don't recommend this one. This is not a great tour (and we did many walking tours in Colombia). It takes you to a few squares in the old city but the information you get in each of them is often lacking, missing, or clearly inaccurate.
The guide, which was quite awkward (part of it was the language barrier), tried to over dramatize the history of the city in a way that was quite silly at times and made it difficult to know facts from fiction. For example, Francis Drake did not burn the city down just because he found a letter calling him a pirate, which offended him as an Englishman. There were dozens of examples like that (some of the reviews here make me suspect that some people actually believe the fictional history we were reputedly told on this tour).
In other places the guide just did not do a good job. We stopped at a square and he asked "Who knows who is the most famous Columbian artist?" When someone answers "Botero" he says "you're right" and moves on, but forgets to point out that there is a Botero sculpture in the other corner of the square.
Our tour was on 12/24 and multiple folks asked him what is there to do in town on Christmas. A trivial question, right? He said he didn't know and maybe there would not be much because of "the situation" (I think he meant COVID). In any event that was absurd. The city had dozen of events and parties during Christmas and we could have seen them preparing them during the tour.
The tour was at 10am, which is super hot, which also made it difficult for everyone (including the guide). It might be better to take the tour (if at all) in the afternoon.
Overall, the old city is nice but you can probably see it on your own just as well if not better.

The tour was great. The local guide, Jairo, told us all about the history of Cartagena while walking us through the different squares and beautiful buildings. The tour took around 2 hours, so very doable, especially under the hot sun. Jairo made us a pop quizz every few minutes and gave rewards to.those who gave correct answers :) recommend this tour 100%!

Edgar took such great care ofe andy friends from start to finish on every tour we booked through him. He and his team went above and beyond to not onlyake sure we received fair pricing, but also to check in if we're comfortable and felt safe. Thanks for making our trip unforgettable!

Our historic walking tour led by Edgar was phenomenal! Edgar’s style is engaging; he learned everyone’s names, where we were from, etc. and drew people in individually throughout the tour. He is also a skilled educator. He explained complex topics in simple terms and used examples to illustrate abstract points. Edgar is very knowledgeable about the history of Cartagena. He spoke openly and honestly, not shying away from difficult parts of their history, and highlighted the triumphs despite the tragedies faced by the indigenous people and enslaved Africans and their descendants. This engaging and informative tour was FREE but would’ve been worth paying for. If you’re in Cartagena, I suggest you look for the yellow hats & umbrellas and take one of their tours!

My girlfriends and I went to Cartegena for vacation and we wanted to do a historical tour. We just wanted to know the significance/story behind the things were were seeing. We heard about this tour through other travelers we met on an excursion. They were going on and on about how great their tour guide David was. That evening when we got back to our hotel we asked the front desk to help us book this tour! We were going into our last day of vacation and we just had to squeeze it in. So, I get an email confirmation for the tour that evening and I confirmed specifically mentioning this David person. We were directed to meet at a plaza and “look for the yellow umbrella.” We were terrible in that we lost track of time (checking out of our hotel and buying last minute souvenirs) and ended up meeting our tour guide Edgard LATE! We were mortified and naturally apologetic to him. We were thinking this man is going to hate us because my two friends and I were the only people on this tour and it was hot as hades that day. But Edgard was so nice! He put us at ease and was just so calm about everything. He walked us around and explained things in the shade, bless his heart! He listen to our requests and took us to Getsemani and explained all the art in and history of the neighborhood. He took us to reputable emerald shop/museum where we spent an eternity picking out our favorite pieces and he was just so patient! I cannot say enough about this man! He went above and beyond holding our emeralds in his book bag, taking our pictures, sharing his umbrella when we wanted, and just giving us so much of the rich history. He called us by name too like we were all old friends. It was so nice. His English was amazing too! I would recommend this tour to anyone. At the end we were just like, take all our money lol. Edgard is phenomenal. I presume David is too because the way the other travelers were gushing about him is similar to the way my friends and I gush about Edgard.

Hola.

Streets are a little narrow and there are very few steps, think it should be fine with a stroller

I'm interested in doing this tour. I would like to give our guide an appropriate tip. How much did you give? I looked on their website, but could not find any info. Thanks!
