The pink sea is found In the department of Bolívar is the village of Galerazamba, which is part of the municipality of Santa Catalina. The place has a great history and its salt flats steal the whole show, since they provide the waters forming the intense pink sea, being a natural phenomenon it has a pink hue depending on the season, the season of the pink sea is of December to April. My boyfriend and I booked this boat tour before arriving in Cartagena via Ana and it was the highlight of our entire trip. Ana was amazing at communicating and helping plan our day. When we got to the dock we had no problem finding out boat and crew. We went to Cholon first and went snorkeling and then Isla Arena and got drinks and hung out on the beach and then got lunch and lounged on Carolina Island. I think Carolina Island is a must!! We were greeted with drinks and were provided a perfect spot for lounging with an amazing view. The lunch was good! We were able to bring our own drinks and snacks on the boat and the crew was great!! It was such a special day and I am so happy we used Thalasa!! The boat was very very nice and spacious! Would recommend this to everyone going to Rosario islands!!

Thalasa is a good option for this. Very helpful in planning up front, they will provide you the options. If you want to maximize your experience however, you need to plan your own day and all of your own stops. Otherwise you will end up in the pre-determined, somewhat heavily-touristed locales. The boat drivers are friendly, but young and not particularly axed to provide their own suggestions (somewhat because their English is not the best and my Spanish is not the best). It's a great time regardless (we did a little of both). But if you want to see things a little off the beaten path, which you can now do because you booked the private boat :), then do a little research yourself and they will take you wherever. Blue Apple Beach House, if you want to unwind a little with something a bit slower/less party driven, is a great stop that we researched after partying a little bit in Cholon.

This blew every expectation we had out of the water (pun intended). The experience is well worth the premium price, if you can afford it. Booked the Mimosa about a month before travel. Ana was incredibly communicative from booking through the day of our trip. Her colleague Catalina met us at the gate of the marina at 9am & walked us to the boat & introduced us to our captain, Alex, and first mate, Duene (sp?). We chose to go to the grocery store & pick up some snacks & beer for the cooler the day before - which is very spacious & comes with plenty of ice. From there, we went to Coralina for snorkeling, took a scenic route to the 'tourist-trappy' yet very fun Cholon, then to a private lagoon on Playa Blanca (far from the main crowds) for swimming. The entire time, the crew was incredibly nice, helpful & knew exactly how to sail the waters. That last part is important given the rough surf on the return journey - they made riding through it a blast. There is a plethora of information out there on the Rosario Islands, along with hundreds of tour options to visit them. This can make the research & decision making difficult. However, if you're looking for peace of mind & a truly 5-Star experience, then look no further than Thalasa. This is a dreamy experience.

Everything went smoothly with this boat trip. Everyone was on time and very courteous throughout the day. We could bring our own food and drinks and the crew was always willing to give you a fresh beverage whenever you needed one. We were allowed to select the three locations we visiting throughout the day and we were given plenty of time at each spot. The islands are beautiful and worth a bit of a bumpy ride to get out there. Four hundred bucks for the day between four people was a great price considering you'd spend $60 per person on other boats that limit your itinerary and you share the boat with many people. This was a great deal and well worth it.

My boyfriend and I booked a trip to the Rosario Islands on New Years day and had the best time. Ana was extremely helpful and took care of us from the minute we made the reservation. Despite there being some strong winds, the crew went above and beyond to make our day special. We stopped at Islas del Rosario, Cholon, Agua Azul and Playa Blanca and we will highly recommend to all of our friends!
