We went for a one-day, two-submersion dive trip with La Tortuga in June, and it was a really great and fun experience. I am a certified Open Water Diver, but my two friends accompanying me had never dived before. This wasn't an issue at all, and we were able to be a part of the same dive trip while diving at slightly different depths. During my first dive, I was surprised to see that the site included three sunken ships (sunken purposely as artificial reefs)! I had never dived a wreck before, so it was a blast to be able to swim through the narrow corridors of a couple of the ships and check them out. An awesome surprise. The staff were great, and a sandwich and juice is included with your trip. Highly recommended!

It was a pleasure to meet all the team of La tortuga. They are all friendly, professional and they help you with everything they can. Specially Maria (the office) and Juan (the divemaster) are kindly and I will recommend anyone who wants to dive in Cartagena to contact them

I had a couple of days in Cartagena and this guys were pretty close to my hotel so checking them out i decided to get a diving license with them. They were the best and very professional in all the bad situations i found myself during the lessons. Good diving spots and very well organized tours.

Well, there is no review as such... as Tortuga operator decided not to show up to our rendez-vous at 7am. My wife and I called about 3 times to make sure all was ok, but they simply "forgot" about us... When we called them, their answer was: "well, do your immersions tomorrow!"... :O excuse me??? Then their other option was to do the afternoon dive which was not good for us (you know, during holidays we have a timetable, and we are not from la Costa that we may have time for everything). Anyways, if you want to have fun, and stick to a serious operator, then go for another one but Tortuga, and I'm sure you will be happy for your decision.

We called and talked to Maria on Tuesday to book a morning dive Thursday and she took our information and stated we needed to be at the dive shop at 7:30am for paperwork and getting our gear. Excited and booked, good to go, right? No. We called early Thursday to make sure we had the correct address since in Cartagena the streets go by names versus their numbers in google maps. The man answered and stated "oh you're the ones diving today" and commenced trying to convince us that we were not on a list and that Maria must have messed up. His suggestion was to try for Friday but we were flying Saturday morning and could not, hence our Thursday reservation. The man stated there was nothing he could do since we were not on "the list". What was weird was his stating that he knew there were two people diving but then tried getting us onto a different dive trip. Apparently we were the only ones diving and he did not want to go out for only 2 people. Thanks for nothing Tortuga, I had such high hopes considering your other reviews.
