I attended a lunch time cooking class with my mom during our week visit to Cartagena. Our hotel arranged the class so we didn’t know much about the program before hand. Our only request was to cook empanadas.
We were greeted at the hotel by Romario and he escorted us to the kitchen which was only a few blocks from the hotel.
The kitchen and work space was so lovely and impressive. Lots of light and SO clean and welcoming. The designers definitely thought of everything. We were greeted by Christian and another member of the class and we dove right into it. As we had requested, they made a special change to the menu to honor our ask for empanadas. Romario and Christian were knowledgeable and very interesting to talk to. The recipes were DELICIOUS and not too complex to make back home. We ate as a group and toasted to our successful lunch!
I HIGHLY recommend this experience. It was such an added bonus to our amazing time in Cartagena.

What an AMAZING experience! Romario and Sibeiria were awesome! This was well worth every peso. Romario is knowledgeable, patient, and has a great personality. Whenever I come back my family and I have already decided to do the meal and cocktail course!! Don't even hesitate..book it NOW! It was one of the BEST meals I had during my trip!

We booked this 'last minute' when we were looking for something laid-back to do between checking out of the hotel and catching our flight home. And so glad we did. The kitchen is amazing - totally undercover but completely open at both ends so the breeze came through. Modern and bright with loads of space. There was one other couple there, who were really nice too. I'm not much of a cook but the instruction was straightforward and not stressful at all.
We did the four-course Colombian meal, which turned out really well (under the watchful eye of Romario!).
It was a delightful way to spend the afternoon out of the Cartagena heat. Would definitely recommend it.

Fabulous and delicious and informative!! Yurac and his wonderful team made us feel right at home and led us in preparing a four course combination meal of Peruvian and Columbian dishes. It is a beautiful setting located within the heart of old Cartagena. It was a clean, comfortable and friendly environment, easy to find and easy to access and a short drive from the cruise terminal. It is next door to the Origines Restaurante and Bar. We rang the bell and then someone from the team opened the gate for us and brought us through a beautiful corridor and into a kitchen that is partially open to the sky. GORGEOUS!!
We can't recommend it enough!! We would go again in a heart beat and hope to attend one of Yurac's Lima, Peru locations someday!! The food was delicious, the instruction was wonderful and the company was superb!

This was a very fine time of learning to create and serve Colombian cuisine. They also had fine wine available at an extra charge. A hands-on event. If you’re even thinking about doing something like this while in Columbia, go here.

Such a fun experience. We prepared delicious Columbian dishes. Chef and his staff were friendly , professional , super clean and accommodated any food allergies.

More than just a cooking class, we got a full and true local experience with Romario! He might also be one of the best and most impressive humans I have ever met! We did the bazurto market tour, fruit tasting, cooking and cocktail making classes and the entire experience was incredible! I highly recommend experiencing the market. It's definitely not for the faint hearted but gave us a true picture of the lives of some Colombians! Romario was great the entire way. He was so knowledgeable about the market and fruits, explained everything the whole way. Romario crafted dishes that were perfectly curated to our tastes and dietary needs while keeping the local Colombian style. The cocktails were delicious too. Romario spent the pandemic learning English and it is quite remarkable how much he knows from just learning recently and in such a short time. We learned so much from him! His staff was on top of everything too and it was all just so well run and we had so much fun with them! I don't have any regrets choosing Sky Kitchen for our cooking class. I highly recommend them!

I loved everything about the cooking class. They were really patient and went through everything step by step for me and my husband. Everything was fresh and organic and tasted wonderful. Having an English speaking instructor made it even easier. Recommend 5/5

Romario and his talented team of 3 put on one of the best cooking classes we’ve participated in. We learned to make 4 things - arepas, patacones, a fish dish and dessert. The team was kind, patient and flexible to all of us, including my children and spoke perfect English. The food was fresh and authentic, and the recipes were simple enough (with reasonably standard ingredients) that we could replicate them back in the US if we wanted to. Not to mention the space was great - open air and bright, and spotless. Highly recommend. I loved that we were able to learn about and participate in a cultural activity.

Hello! We can schedule classes in the afternoon/evening if you contact us directly over our website and more than 24 hours in advance and 2 or more participants. We currently don't offer a Bazurto Market tours, but will do so in the future. I would recommend a Bazurto visit only in the morning at 9am or 10am, but not in the afternoon. In comparison to other operators we teach 4 different courses in one 3-hour-session (2 starters, 1 main dish, 1 dessert).
