After six months of lockdown we were able to fly from Bogota to Cartagena, second day we were diving with Paraiso Dive, just one day after Cartagena allowed diving. We stayed in Cartagena for a month and dove with Jota and his team for 7 times. We had an incredible nice time with them, went to Islas del Rosario twice, Baru and Tierra Bomba, we also spent the afternoon at Blue Apple. Very pro team, well maintained gear, nice diving boat with radio and safety equipment. All the diving spots were nice, the ones in Islas del Rosario were the best and they always used all precautionary measures, so we always felt confident while diving. We want to thank Jota, Cristina, Jenny, Captain John, Daniel, and Eduardo for the amazing time we had, hope we can return soon.

My partner and I did our open water course with Paraíso Dive. I've been wanting to learn since I was a child, but my partner, though interested, was apprehensive about all the equipment. Jota patiently spent time to walk through all of his concerns the day before and made sure he was comfortable and reassured about the safety of the sport. We did our actual classes with Dani, who was an excellent instructor. Because of Colombia recently reopening, we were lucky to have just the two of us, but Jota mentioned that even in high season they keep the classes small. Despite the less than ideal visibility due to the storm, we both had a great time and got to see a few different coral reefs that were in good condition as well as a few shipwrecks. Diving was everything I hoped it would be and my partner had a blast as well! We can't wait to dive again. As an added bonus we were able to relax at blue apple afterwards and, though pricey by Colombian standards, the food was excellent and worth the splurge. Overall we had an awesome two days with Paraíso Dive and we will definitely be back to check out the new dive center Jota and Dani are opening on Isla Grande.

Amazing! We were two couples and two kids. Did two dives. Incredible experience and they had staff to help with the kids to snorkle while they took us diving. Highly recommend!

It was wonderful to return to the Paraiso Dive Cartagena Center. After months of quarantine, I was ready to experience the wonders of the warm Colombian Caribbean again. I was delighted to dive with owner and manager, Jose Uparela aka "Jota." His personalized attention to our safety, the new equipment, and the dive site orientation made all the difference. I felt safe, relaxed, and I loved learning about all the marine life. Jota's staff was on-time and very attentive. The boat is in great condition and the captain drove very well even in rougher conditions. The personalized service was much better than the large tours in Mexico. The Colombian reefs are in good shape and there is a wide variety of corals and fish. We even got to see dolphins our way to our first site. I can't wait to go back!
