The place has a great history and its salt flats steal the whole show, since they provide the waters forming the intense pink sea, being a natural phenomenon it has a pink hue depending on the season, the season of the pink sea is of December to April. I don’t understand what the hype is all about with this bar. I’ve been there before and the music isn’t as good as in other bars. I went for their NYE package as I well late and everything else was sold out and it was a total flop. The food was a flop, when I said I couldn’t eat pork after they sent the entry, they didn’t have the decency to propose something else, especially given that my husband and I paid worth 2 tables. The food started being served so late and service incredibly slow which is unbelievable when the amount of people was reduced with covid. It was 11:59pm and I was still onto dessert. Does the staff understand the importance of NYE celebration? The music was a flop, we were told it would be dancehall, Afrobeats and reggeaton, it was nothing like that. Their DJ played some kind of ambiance house music. No one was dancing on the 2 floors. The countdown on the rooftop didn’t have a view of the fireworks when we asked specifically for this at the entrance prior to paying! Overall a terrible experience. I literally got ripped off for nothing. I will never ever put another foot in this bar.

Went here for a special event at the Roof Top Bar and the view, the service, the food, and the staff. The drinks were delicious, the tapas were tasty, and the overall atmosphere was great. Since we were here for a special event, we brought our tween kids which wasn’t the best choice as it’s really a bar and not the scene for kids.

Massive Lie. Don’t believe anything anyone said. I hope this review sees the light of day because this place is pure crap. It might be local management putting in fake reviews. Let me explain what I experienced: 1. They are “full”, and that means empty tables on the first floor, while people wait outside for 30-40 minutes. This would have been worth it, but... 2. There was not a dance floor. The second and third floors were closed. Attached are pictures showing proof. The only places that were open were the first floor, and some tables and bar stools were empty. Yet, they did not let more people in. Why? 3. The bouncer kept letting people in who cut the line. I understand Colombia has no line culture, but these were white guys who cut the line with several other women. What a joke. 4. The drinks were quite good. The bartenders might look young, but they are definitely not inexperienced. If you went good drinks, you should come here. In conclusion, Alquímico is a racist, classist, and overhyped institution. There is no need to give this place your money. Leave. Find some other local place that is not patriarchally supporting machismo culture in Colombia.
