Went here twice and thoroughly enjoyed eating the tropical fruits that I haven’t had in so many years. Vendors are friendly and helpful, but it’s advantageous to know Spanish to effectively communicate with them. It’s a must visit for anyone wanting to visit a Colombian Farmers’ Market. There are beautiful fresh flower displays! Try the arepas, all the fruits and pan!

If you want to discover the real Cali then a trip here is essential. They sell just about everything. If you like seafood then you'll love this place. They serve the best Ceviche in Cali. It's busy and bustling but it's quite safe and there's definitely beauty in the chaos.

Great to walk, to discover, to eat the Cali culture on every cazuela, every shot of viche. Even when you think you've already see everything there, you see a peruvian ceviche bar, and an amazing coconut ice cream at "el Rey del Coco", because if you don't know, la Alameda is full of coconut in different ways.

La galería Alameda is a local market which has all sorts of local fresh meats, fish, produce and anything else you can think of. It is overwhelming for foreigners but not insanely chaotic like other local markets in Colombia or other countries I have been at. On the outskirts of the Galería you will also find delicious restaurants and souvenir shops. When in Cali, it is worth a visit if you feel adventurous enough to sumerge yourself into something uniquely local.

My 14 year old and I visited this market while on the Callejeros Street Food Tour. Excellent stop. Not only do you get to see and maybe try and array of delightful fruits, you can also have amazing lunch and sip delicious coffee at Trinitario coffee.
A must do while in Cali.

Really enjoyed wandering around this market. Came here on the food tour and got introduced to lots of new, delicious tropical fruits such as pitaya. They are colourfully displaced and the market is very clean and organised. It is pretty big and they also sell lots of other things like freshly baked bread, cheese, there’s a really nice coffee shop with a lovely back story (started by 2 friends pushing a coffee cart around Cali and they got the shop in the market 2 years ago-they sell a really tasty juice as well made from the coffee husks). There’s a old man who sells marshmallow type sweets (made from pork which sounds disgusting-but they taste really good-2nd pic) and were only 1000 COP-he makes them at home. There is also a really nice cafe called Dona Theresa near the entrance which does delicious home made traditional meals for next to nothing-we shared the tamale (made from chicken, pork and bacon), had sweet plaintain and catfish and a type of bread and 3 lulo juices all for 26,000 and very tasty! Definitely recommend a visit!

I visited the market multiple times, enjoying lots of wonderful fruits and vegetables including some really different fruits I had not tried before. It's a very big market and you will also find many other items there - it's worth to put some time aside for when visiting.

But once you're there, you should give some of the local eateries a try for lunch. The food was always very fresh and delicious.

About a 7'200cop taxi ride from Granada area. The mercado Alameda offered a nice insight. We came here twice, once by street food tour and then by ourselves.
The variety of fruits and local food and habits is just huge! It seems a bit chaotic but it's worth a visit.
Only some examples we tried:
guanabana juice, anon (chyrimoya), ciruela, starfruit (carombolo), zapote, pittaya (dragonfruit), mangostina (mangosteen), mamoncillo, champus drink, costeño (salty cheese), chontaduro (con miel), granadilla (fruit), maracuja, tomate de arbol..
(Maybe I got some things wrong, but you should try it anyway by yourself :-)

Oh, and try the Ceviche Colombiano (or with S..) from the street stand opposite the mercado entrance no. 3. This ceviche for about 11000cop with crackers and many shrimps was incredibly good and enough! Had it twice and absolutely no issues with the stomach, my new favourite ceviche!

Also the cheese we bought there was very tasty and on the cheaper side compared to a few fruits which were not that cheap. But just buy one or two and try and buy more of your favorite.
There is also a nice coffee stand where you can get real organic coffee and at good prices.

Definitely a nice insight and it was one of the more comfortable markets we saw in South America also from a hygienic perspective. Would definitely recommend it!

There you will find all the delights and flavors of Colombia. The market hall is near the center of the city, but I recommand, to go there only with locals.
