The "Cali Walking Tour" explores the historic city center, while you listen interesting stories. This tour takes about 2 hours and is for tips, so you decide how much the tour is worth! The "Bohemian Tour" explores all assets of the local culture. Discover the historic city center, try food and drinks and enjoy local music and dance. Brilliant tour and SO much food

We booked the tour through Viajero hostel and it was definitely a highlight of our time in Cali. Niels was an excellent guide, not only taking us to the good spots to eat, but some great street art along the way. I was really pleasantly surprised at how much you get to try on the tour - we were definitely full up by the end of it. If the group really likes something, he’ll buy more of it which was great too. A great mix of fruits, hot food, coffee and other drinks. Definitely recommend!

Maybe the best walking tour!

This was a great experience! The day before we wanted to do the tour we wrote to Niels (his whatsapp on their page which is linked here on TA). He answered quickly and confirmed the meeting point and he is aware we will join. Meeting point was the hostel El viajero around the center at carrera 5 No. 4-56, San Antonio Barrio.

We started walking a bit through San Antonio and he gave us inputs and explanations about the city and some graffities on the way. The main part of the Street food tasting is taking place in the Mercado La Alameda. But already on the way to the mercado Niels offered us some things to try, for example the Colombian ceviche with shrimps which was delicious! Niels gave us explanations all the time and it was a great dialog between him and the group and we could ask anything!
In the market we tried a lot of different things (many fruits which were completely new to us even we tried many things during travelling). It was just great to receive the interesting information in this nice environment of the markets atmosphere. By the end of the tour we could try organic coffee accompanied by interesting information concerning the coffee industry.
Usually, I eat a lot but I need to say we definitly were full after all these examples!
It was a great tour and the guide Niels is very knowledgeable and a very interesting and authentic person.
After several walking tours in south america we need to say that this one was one of the best tours we did and the price for 30'000 is very very fair, absolutely great value for money!! And the given information not only concerns food what makes it even more informative! Niels could give us information for every question!
You need to do this tour when in Cali!

This is a great tour and a really nice way to get to know the local cuisine. Niels is a great guide and I'd definitely recommend this to anyone visiting

I hate to do this, but we had sent a message on WhatsApp on the same morning and were told the tour was going ahead at 4pm but no one turned up! No message or any notice. There were about 8 of us waiting. A few of us eventually rushed nearby to do another walking tour (free tour Cali) though this turned out to not be a great tour unfortunately

Hello! Sorry, that you missed the Free Cali Walking Tour. I'm really surprised to read this comment, because the last months we gave the tour every Monday through Saturday (with exception of public holidays) and we left at 4pm from in Iglesia la Merced. Are you sure, that this comment is meant for the Free Cali Walking Tour of Callejeros Tours (there are other free walking tours in Cali)? Can you tell me on which day it happened? Are you sure you were waiting at 4pm in front of Iglesia la Merced? Please help me to find out what went wrong, so we can make sure that is doesn’t happen again.

We joined this street food tour today, it was really fun! Great guide who is really relaxed and can tell you all about cali and its knowabouts. We had a tour through the city and tasted some of the finest snacks, fruits, ceviches and traditional dishes. Must do when you are in Cali!

Top activity in Cali!

We did this tour yesterday and had the most fantastic time! Niels is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide and we tried a multitude of new dishes and fruits. My opinion of Colombian food has changed! 😅 I highly recommend this tour.

Booked the food tour through our hostel Rossa Palma. Nels was a super enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide. Group was big, but didn’t matter. We went to several downtown locations trying 20+ different foods. From Ceviche and tomales to rice pudding and cheese. Ended at a local coffee stall in the market. Well worth the money. Rolled home absolutely satisfied.

A different experience

My 14 year old son and I joined this tour because we love food and getting to know cities through their gastronomy. Niels is very kind and has definitely adopted Cali as his own. I’m Colombian and I hesitated to take a tour in English given by someone not from Cali- I’m glad I ignored my hesitation. We toured areas that I may not have visited on my own and tasted great samples of local food- the market stop is the best! La Sra. Teresa makes the best Sancocho de Pescado!
Niels is conscious of not wishing to waste food so a lot of the tasting means sharing w your fellow tourists. This may be uncomfortable for some people-you can always bring your own spoon and a little cup and ask if everyone is healthy!

Excellent (not just) food tour, highly recommended

Did the food tour with Niels, who is a really nice guy with a good sense of humour. Got to taste so many different kinds of food and drinks, including pretty much every type of fruit available at the market. Considering the price this was already more than great value for money. However on top of that Niels shared a lot of information about Cali, the culture, the history, the street art, etc. which made it an absolutely excellent experience, one of my highlights of two weeks in Colombia, highly recommended! PS: Niels will be happy to know we took his advice of joining in on the Salsa dancing in the evening, instead of just watching from the side, and we ended up having a great time, thanks Niels!
